I'm talking about basic respect for the fact that each person is an individual with their own life, boundaries and responsibilities. You aren't going to murder, rob or assault anyone. No one had to earn that from you.

When punitive damages can’t teach a lesson, those immune to it often seek more power. If their pockets are lined deep enough, they can criminalize the ones that pursue them. That’s why it centralizes in our government. They are the crime.
