In response to the raging forest fires at Pauri Garhwal sector in Uttrakhand, IAF provided the much needed relief by undertaking Bambi Bucket ops by its Mi17 V5 helicopters. Over 4500 litres of water was used to douse the fires in close coordination with Uttarakhand government. The swift action by #IAF enabled the fire fighting crew on the ground to penetrate and douse fires in a more efficient manner. #HADROps #HarKaamDeshKeNaam

Just got sick when I realized that there was a massive fire set early this morning (Jan 7th) in DTLA at Hope & Pico which occurred at approximately the SAME TIME as the Palisades fire. Strangely, this is directly adjacent to where another huge fire occurred the day after Christmas (1.5 weeks prior) at the famous Morrison Hotel. I imagine most people were too busy celebrating Christmas to even hear about it. Attached here is an exclusive video of the DTLA Morrison Hotel fire, an exclusive photo showing the damage from both fires (Hope/Pico damage circled in red) and news articles about both. Hard Questions: Did the same entity start BOTH fires to divert resources so they couldn’t effectively combat the Palisades Fire before it became catastrophic? CBS said over a hundred firefighters were busy battling the DTLA fire this morning. Was the fire on the same DTLA block 1.5 weeks ago the “test” fire for the one set this morning? Oh and apparently someone has been trying to develop that entire Hope block where the fires occurred for years but that would be extremely difficult to get approved due to the historic buildings. After 18 days of historic fires, rain has finally come to Los Angeles. Despite having an annual budget of $44 billion, LA County storm drains empty directly onto our beaches and into the Pacific Ocean. We already have high levels of bacteria (feces) in our ocean water year round. The recent rains will add highly toxic ash and chemicals. This is a major environmental and public health hazard, but LA County Public Health does very little to warn the public. Instead of closing the beaches, they put up small signs that most visitors cannot see.

India is dying of thirst, but who cares? He only cares about PM Cares. Let him not care; we will care. We will care for those who have to walk miles just to get a bucket full of water. We will care for the children who, instead of going to school, spend their days fetching water. We will care for every single citizen for whom water becomes the most precious commodity during the summer. We will care for our future generations. The little we can do is: 1) Stop wasting water in our daily routines. 2) Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth or shaving. 3) Use a bucket for bathing instead of running the shower. 4) Recycle the wastewater from your RO systems and AC units for cleaning or watering plants. 5) Reuse water from washing food (like vegetables, rice, or lentils) to water the plants at home or in your locality. 6) Carry a refillable bottle instead of buying single-use plastic mineral water bottles every time. 7) Finish the last drop if you do use a plastic water bottle, rather than taking one sip and throwing the rest away. 8) Adopt rainwater harvesting in your home or building as much as possible. 9) Take a pledge not to pollute water bodies, as millions of people depend on that water directly. 10) Start planting more trees to help restore groundwater levels. 11) Repost and share this with others and be part of the change.
