Some unemployed graduates in Tarkwa have appealed to President John Dramani Mahama and businessman Ibrahim Mahama to support them in their ongoing dispute with AngloGold Ashanti in the area. According to the group, they have been removed from the small-scale mining sites that previously provided them with a source of livelihood, and are therefore calling for intervention to ensure that local residents also benefit from the natural resources within their community. Gov Radda Offers Direct Employment to First Class Graduate Selling Pure Water, Reaffirms Commitment to Academic Excellence. Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD, CON, has offered immediate employment to Sham'unu Ishaq, a First Class graduate of Umaru Musa Yar'adua University who was discovered selling pure water to support his family. Upon learning of Ishaq's situation, Governor Radda promptly directed his Special Assistant on Students Matters, Hon. Muhammad Nagaske, to verify the authenticity of the viral video. Subsequent investigation confirmed that Sham'unu Ishaq indeed graduated with First Class honors in (Ed.) Education/Biology during the 2021/2022 academic session, as verified by the University's Deputy Vice Chancellor. Ishaq, who completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Taraba State, had resorted to selling pure water to meet personal and family obligations. "Academic excellence should be rewarded, not relegated to the streets," Governor Radda stated while issuing directives for Ishaq's immediate employment through the Head of Service. "This administration remains committed to identifying and supporting exceptional talents who can contribute to our state's development." This latest intervention aligns with Governor Radda's consistent drive to reward academic excellence and promote quality education in Katsina State. Just last month, on October 12, 2024, the Governor demonstrated this commitment by offering automatic employment to nine outstanding graduates of Isah Kaita College of Education, Dutsinma. Abia Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has announced plans to establish a seaport in the state. The project which will be located in Owazza, Ụkwa East LGA Abia state. The Obidient governor made this announcement at the ongoing South-East Security Summit in Owerri, Imo state. He also announced that the flag off of the seaport will be done together with the Abia industrial and innovation park, located on over 1,000 hectares of land. It would host multiple layers of businesses including modular refineries and petrochemical and fertiliser plants. President William Samoei Ruto, PhD has instructed universities to issue new admission letters that clearly indicate the amount of fees each parent will be required to pay. Parents will not pay the full cost of the university programmes because the Government will provide upto 95 percent support to each student. The New Funding Model for universities has made higher education more accessible and affordable for all students. The government offers scholarships and loans tailored to meet the varying needs of students: - Students from vulnerable families are placed in Band 1 and receive 95% government support. - Students in Band 2 receive 90% support. - Students in Band 3 receive 80% support. - Students in Band 4 receive 70% support. - Students in Band 5 receive 60% support. As promised by the President, No one is left behind!

We have launched Every student's data will be highly protected and will never be shared without express authorization from them. We want students to freely and safely report any form of admission racketeering, sorting, extortion, victimization, sex for grades, threats etc without any form of fear. We will engage all the necessary authorities to ensure that every legitimate complaint is duly handled and justice served. We want to sanitize our tertiary institutions and restore full integrity, to ensure that within 2 years we will start producing top quality graduates across board. We will be the greatest workforce in Africa within 10 years and we are very serious about it.
