🚨Governor DeSantis instituted a Civics Course for teachers where they are taught Western civilization, ancient Greece, ancient Rome, the Scottish enlightenment, and history of English literature. Teachers get a $3000 bonus to take the course. So far 21,000 have taken it.

DeSantis is so way ahead on implementing great policies in FL. I mean, the man is historically great. It's gonna be hard getting used to his replacement.

This test was 8th grade from 1912. My grandfather was in 8th grade then. Most 30nyear olds today couldn't pass it.

This is a waste of $. How about we actually pay teachers instead of wasting their time?

Taking a civics class means learning about the rights and duties of citizenship, which can encompass government, religion, community service and more. Be awesome if they taught American Civics

I love @GovRonDeSantis ! He doesn't just talk about good things - he puts them into action AND pushes them across the finish line. Excellent leadership.

And the taxpayers are paying for something that should have been learned before college. This is what's wrong.

For the best clips of Governor DeSantis follow @ReOpenChris

You know what? I'm shocked and amazed that there is anyone left who knows how to teach a class on Western Civ. The Gov ought to put this class on X. It'll go viral.

@JTLonsdale How can we get this across the world? Plenty of countries could do with learning about Western civilization!

This guy is soooo good at running and improving Florida! The best governor ever!!

@jharwellou Does this incentive exist for out-of-state teachers? You’re going to PAY ME to take a class ?!😍😍😍

Nice move DeSantis. The corruption of teacher education has been the key to undermining our whole educational system and society. This is a good way to counter the damage.

There’s 180,000 teachers in FL so 11.6% took the course. Better than zero!

@SarahHuckabee more good decisions in Florida that we could copy here in Arkansas @ARGOP

Awesome.

Man, that’s the kind of thinking we need , like there is no box at all.

So they are getting a $3,000 bonus to learn what they should of learned in 8th grade but never learned all the way through college

That’s great unfortunately we have a problem in Lee County with the teachers Union and the teachers that walk the kids out and the school administrators allowing students to leave school and protest protest ICE. I WANT REPERCUSSIONS.

Dang, good job, DeSantis! I wish that had happened when I was teaching!

All my office employees are required to watch Foundations of Western Civilization from The Great Courses. That is the core program. If they complete the forty-eight lectures and can answer a set of basic questions that show they have actually understood the material, they stay. If they cannot grasp what is being taught there, then they are not a good fit for the team. There are additional courses that follow, but this is the foundation on which everything else rests.

I took it and I learned SO much. Wish I could take it again. It was well done!!

A bonus to learn western civilization is nuts, How about not hiring teachers that don’t know the history of western civilization.

What a great program. Western culture dominates the world because of the great figures in our history. They should not be overlooked in eduction for the sake of diversity.

They seriously need to investigate those that refuse to take the course

This man would make a great president

If we paid teachers like we paid sports ball players we wouldn’t have an education problem.

I’d take it! Would you?

I distrust teachers more than Healthcare workers these days. Many are still pushing CRT and extreme sex ed. Dei not to mention tgrir felonious actions with Ice

@RonDeSantis @GovRonDeSantis Did any of them pass???

I am one of them. Great course!

I was on the waitlist. Hope to get in soon

Amazing!

YES! We do have the best governor in the US 💙🇺🇸

@Breathe2604 I'm in NC a Civics teacher can I take it?
