The universities are the source of many of our national woes. From indoctrination of students, to severe overcharging of tuition, to getting billions of dollars in grant monies for worthless research, to disruptions of daily life due to protests, to corrupt research due to corporate funding, etc. etc. There needs to be a giant overhaul of the system

I love this!! Because this is the real issue. Universities absolutely overpromise and under deliver. Dept heads trying to drum up support will tell the students anything to get them in their major.

The Trump Administration is officially putting an end to Joe Biden’s illegal student loan bailout attempts. No student loan has been referred to collections since March 2020. But starting on May 5th, U.S. Department of Education will resume involuntary collections for borrowers with defaulted federal student loans. Debt cannot be wiped away – it just ends up getting transferred to others. Why should Americans who didn’t go to college or went to college and responsibly paid back their loans – pay for other Americans’ student loans? If you take out a loan – you must pay it back.

My credit score went down a point because I paid off one of my loans. Why, why would I pay off my loans when you're penalized when you do pay it off” Your credit score can actually drop by 20-50+ points because you pay off a loan depending on the size of the account This is absolutely a scam The reason for this is, is because the credit score system is a statistical model that takes in a bunch of things. When you pay off a loan it drops the active installment loan metric, so your score drops It eventually corrects after months but it’s still a scam

I’m economically right-wing and believe in the free market. But here’s the problem: America’s most expensive systems like housing, college, healthcare aren’t operating like true free markets. Government intervention and guaranteed loans may be making already expensive systems even more expensive. Why is college tuition skyrocketing? Because government-guaranteed loans give universities a blank check to charge whatever they want.
