Kathy Hochul just told New York sheriffs to “bring it on.” They did. She’s bragging about banning local cops from working with ICE. Says police should chase rapists and murderers — and leave illegal criminal aliens alone because ICE is an “$85 billion agency” that can “take care of themselves.” That’s not law and order. That’s a press release for the people who don’t live next to the problem. Fifteen sheriffs sued her. Including Nassau. Because they want to tell ICE what’s on the block before a raid goes sideways. She answered by threatening to come after the sheriffs. So the governor of New York is more interested in punishing cops who cooperate with federal immigration officers than removing the people those officers are looking for. She doesn’t want coordination. She wants the chaos. Then she’ll run on the cleanup she refused to allow. Governor: you asked for it. The sheriffs brought it. Now New York gets to decide who they trust with the streets — the woman on TV, or the guys who actually have to knock on the door.
