It won’t be blue helmet peacekeeping… Well at the current trajectory there won’t be any UN peacekeeping so it’s not unreasonable to seek an alternative. The UNIFIL mandate included disarming militias so why is a non UN mission radically different in that regard?

It's clear that the Minister for Defence hasn't a clue about the consequences of removing the Triple Lock. If the government believes that this is the will of the people they should have no problem having a referendum. Taoiseach: "the triple lock is the core of Irish neutrality"

UN General Assembly Resolution 76/262 Adopted in April 2022. This rule mandates that whenever a P5 member casts a veto in the Security Council, a meeting of the UN General Assembly must automatically be called within 10 days to debate the vetoed issue. And in Irish law, this brings us to the core of the triple lock. The Defence Amendment Act 2006 does legally allow a UNGA resolution to satisfy the triple lock's "UN mandate" requirement. Put basically there's no veto Anna gives Irish neutrality legal protection under the UN.

All of those missions had UN Sanction

They did, but thats not the point you were complaining about. You were bemoaning a future for the DF in non 'blue helmet' missions, whereas the DF are no stranger to them historically. And we all know the UNSC won't sanction any missions whatsoever for foreseeable future.
