Necessity is the mother of invention. I had heard there has been homebrew solutions since while the KS-23 with modified loads work great, they don't have a ton of the shotgun.

That’s what the creator said about this, basically there aren’t enough grenade launchers for this to be an effective solution

i dont quite know how to articulate this, but is the reason ive seen Ukrainian soldiers and Russian soldiers employing single loading or double barrel shotguns instead of more modern pumps or semi autos because neither country allows civilian gun ownership?

To an extent yes, shotguns are the easiest guns to get in both countries by far, in russia you need to have a shotgun license for 5 years before you can get rifled guns

While it’ll definitely assist in combating drones the biggest issue is still detecting the drones before they get to close.

All of this, and I mean all of it, could've been avoided if we had just adopted the CAWS and influenced the rest of the world to do the same.

I love the spent shell extraction thought process. "Just use a fresh shell to extract the old one!" "What if I don't have a fresh shell?" "Well, then there's no need to extract the spent one!"
