Vitinha smashed the ball into Neves from point-blank range and so, it is classified as “unpreventable contact”, the rule is superseded by proximity. Neves has zero reaction time to move his arm when the ball is coming off a teammate’s foot from two yards away. There’s also the fact that it was a defensive clearance and not an opponent's shot or a goal-bound ball, there is no "unfair advantage" gained. So, this wasn’t a pen, IMO

I’ve said this MANY times… Learn to hit your highest lofted club LOW… Here’s a fairly low/mid trajectory shot from 39y to a front flag… Why not use a “7 iron or 9 iron” and hit a bump and run? Because the ball speed would be too fast and there would be VERY LITTLE backspin to stop the ball A low 60deg wedge from 39y landing short, bouncing once, twice, then spinning is far easier to CONTROL your golf ball because you know exactly what it’s going to do Unbelievable shot here that most people wouldn’t look twice at. Amazing shot by Sam Burns
