Grading is the biggest scam since slim fast

Imagine letting another man decide the value of your card by putting a number on it that’s some bozo moves

Imagine drinking slim fast for a semester in college bc you can’t fit in your jorts and you just get fatter

The crazy part about this particular card is they started reprinting this in millions in late 89-90.

While people hate TAG and AGS, having a computer look at the cards to determine the grade is the only non-bias way to get an accurate grade. Yes even they can mess up but you can set consistent standards that should get the same results every time.

Paying premiums for PSA 10 is dumb. It’s so inconsistent.

Won't catch me paying a grading company after seeing them damage cards and just lower the grade on them Also you pay for that service, ain't that neat! I would only ever grade cards that were serial numbered Can't swap those out and the pop count doesn't factor in

Very common in the hobby.. Have subbed 3 cards to @PSAcard and send them back later after a shitty grade only to get a missively higher grade. ONLY GRADE cards if you plan on selling the slab!

The trading card world as a whole needs to come to the consensus that once a card is graded it gets stamped with the serial number matching the holder.

It is a scam Top dollar won't be paid unless numbskulls see someone else grade a card I eyeball and pay decent $ for ungraded Jordans *in person* and evaluate the card the same way a grader would. I don't want a graded card. Give me mint, ungraded all day and will pay strong

One of my main wishes in life is for all graded cards to become useless and have to be resubmitted to a universal AI grading system. Praying that all those PSA's have to be resubmitted to be graded by AI.. The one and only acceptable thing for this 20 years from now.

It's not real, people. It's never been real. It's "pay to play" and pop control. Which is all market manipulation. Now, that being said, I'm not angry about it and understand why people grade or deal in graded cards. Commodities are easier to but and sell and feel comfortable about valuation. But it has nothing to do with reality. And this is a stark reminder of that. /soapbox

I've been saying this for ages... I am NOT grading my cards. Too expensinve, too risky, too unreliable, too subjective. It sucks the fun out of collecting and in the end you rarely gain. I consistently sell my raw, ungraded cards for more than PSA 9 prices.

It’s not a scam. I was there from the beginning, Joe Orlando days- it is 2 graders, 2 people, 2 employees opinion that is all, why is it so hard for newbs to understand & accept? My God

Moral of the story: buy low grade cards that look good, bust it out, get a higher regrade, sell, profit

And some of these are the same companies "Authenticating" the cards we purchase on eBay

Most of the companies are owned by collectors universe and they need a standardized scale that goes across all companies that wish to be respected in the industry the days of submitting a card that is clearly a 9 and gets a six back because somebody was having a bad day needs to end
