Grand Theft Auto IV (2008) The original GTA online

No bs missions, no grind economy, no flying bikes and cars, no alien laser weapon, no shark cards. Just an open lobby of 24 players and pure chaos in Liberty city. We really had it so good back in the PS3 era

The multiplayer lobbies in IV were pure chaos, especially messing with the swingset glitch. Customizing free roam games with friends before everything became heavily monetized hit totally different.

I played a lot of the no checkpoint races, where so fun and showing friends that didn't know the swingset glitch and see their reaction was the best

This shit used be fun asf teaming up with randoms to go against other randoms

online on IV was fun asf. everybody spawning @ the airport and an all out warfare going on over a helicopter

had way more fun with GTA IV online than GTA V online

Had an absolute blast running Team Deathmatch.

Getting to the airport and glitching into the walls was the thing to do.

Wasnt shit else to do but kill each other and post up with ratman 😂

Also remember the Sniper being Crazy too in this game. you just randomly die to a dude 8 blocks down

Empty map with a few dudes here and there, was pretty boring most of the time.

Fuck I wish I could play GTA 4 online I played it like 2 or 3 times back in like 2020 but there wasn’t that many people so I just got bored and logged off

People saying they prefer this to 5 online which is fine, but there’s a reason one lasted 13 years , gtao could’ve died a long time ago

People used to run RP lobbies. You could lock setting for whole lobby to hide blips. we would stay on bohan cause it was perfect size for only 16 people

Total chaos and freedom at its best. Just free roam with all the interiors open to the player, weapons scattered everywhere, no endless money grinding and flying bikes fucking up your day. Just liberty city open to you and other players to fuck around in. Good times 🥲

I remember trolling people hard flying the annihilator Got pretty good at free aiming with no aim indicators

Cops n crooks was the best game mode. Find a enterable building and camp out and destroy any cops that try to come inside. Spent countless hours doing that
