Great analysis from Sam Bamford in this clip highlighting how Labor does use immigration to harvest votes and that the ABC openly acknowledges this. Mass migration doesn't just put pressure on Infrastructure and essential services. Albanese and the Labor party are clearly selling Australia for votes. Another shameful example...

Vision, Growth, Opportunity — Maharashtra at IABCA 2025! It was a momentous occasion to be at the India–Australia Business and Community Alliance (IABCA) Global Leaders Forum 2025 in Mumbai today. A forum that brings together vision, leadership, and opportunity on a single stage. The energy in the room reflected the growing strength of India–Australia ties, with business, education, and innovation shaping a future of collaboration. India and Australia stand firm on a strong wicket; the time has come to play a 20-20 game in business and cooperation. In today’s dynamic geopolitical environment, both countries must work closely to deepen their partnership. Maharashtra powers India’s growth with 15% GDP, 20% exports, 30% FDI, and 60% data centre capacity. Leading in start-ups and unicorns, it is set to become the EV and steel capital. The comprehensive economic treaty signed recently has opened new doors for mutual growth, and Maharashtra is ready to lead this journey. Our Government is committed towards helping industry and entrepreneurs. All permissions are now given quickly through an online system. Australian businesses should make use of this and invest in Maharashtra. Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji has rightly said that India thrives in its States, and Maharashtra exemplifies this spirit. Already past the half-trillion-dollar economy mark, the State is steadily progressing with robust infrastructure, and global partnerships, positioning itself to become India’s first trillion-dollar sub-national economy by 2029. Vadhavan Port will rank among the world’s top ten, making Maharashtra a maritime superpower. Super expressways will cut logistics costs, while the Navi Mumbai International Airport opens on 30th September 2025. Nearby, Educity will host 12 global universities, with the University of Western Australia and Curtin University already on board, partnering with Gondwana University for Gadchiroli’s steel hub. This collaboration across sectors is reshaping the India–Australia bond. As Hon PM Modi Ji reminded us, the relationship once defined by the three C’s (Commonwealth, cricket, curry), then three D’s (democracy, diaspora, dosti), and later three E’s (energy, economy, education), now stands on the stronger pillars of mutual trust and respect. Maharashtra is proud to be at the forefront of this journey, driving opportunities that will strengthen India–Australia relations and ensure shared prosperity. Minister Jaykumar Rawal, Australia's High Commissioner to India, HE Philip Green OAM and other dignitaries were present. This destroys basically every Democrat fearmongering narrative about Donald Trump’s bill to Abolish the Department of Education Breakdown of Returning Education to our State's Act: - The Child Nutrition Program is not paid out by the Department of Education. This is managed by the Department of Agriculture (So it’s not impacted) - Federal Pell Grant Program, federal Family Education Loan Program, William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program, federal Perkins Loan Programs, all not going anywhere. They're still gonna be alive and well, just moving to the Department of Treasury (This is BIG one) - All functions, programs and authorities of the Secretary of Education under the Individuals with Disability Education Act shall be transferred to the Department of Health and Human Services. This is your IEPs, your early intervention, your special education grants, your free special education services. Those all will just be moving to the Department of Health and Human Services (Not financially impacted) - Each authority and program of the Office of Indian Education of the Department of Education shall be transferred to the Department of Interior. Those are programs designed for Native Americans specifically in their education (Not financially impacted) - Title Eight of Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 shall be transferred to the Department of Health and Human Services. This includes the financial assistant that local education agencies get that lose property tax revenue due to the presence of federally connected students. So those who live on Indian lands have military family or parents. Those in federally, low rent housing, those types of situations, this is where all that falls, and it will just be moving to the Department of Health and Human Services. (Not financially impacted) -The Health Education Assistance Program and the programs under the Education Science Reform Act of 2002 will all also be moving to the Department of Treasury. (Health Education Assistance Loan program is for healthcare field loans for those that are in the medical field.) - The Education Science Reform Act of 2002 are programs to that generate and apply education research to improve teaching, learning, and policies nationwide is moving to the Treasury “All of these things will still be alive and well just moving to a different department” There’s a lot more great information in this video

I was happy to receive the "Outstanding Higher Education Stalwart of the Year" award for 2024 from The Economic Times (Economic Times) last night in Delhi. Of course, there is still so much to do. I returned from the US in 1998 to join IIT Bombay (IIT Bombay) as a faculty member. After 25 years in the IIT system (18 years as a faculty member in IIT Bombay and 7 years in IIT Delhi, of which 6 years as the Director of IIT Delhi), I am now with the BITS Pilanii as a group Vice Chancellor since March 2023. All these three institutions happen to be the Institutions of Eminence (IoE) as recognized by the Ministry of Education Ministry of Education, Govt of India. #IIT Delhi received the #IoE status during my time as the Director IIT Delhi following a highly competitive process. Higher education needs major structural #reforms in India. We are archaic when it comes to managing our best institutions. While Public institutions are dependent on Govt of India for 90% of their funding, Private institutions are dependent on tuition fee for 90% of their sustenance. Both are flawed #financial #models. We need to develop a #diversified financial model where endowments, overheads on research and tuition fee contribute an equal share. It requires major #policy tweaks. We need to seriously look at Study Now-Pay Later kind of models on the lines of Australia's HELP scheme. American higher education funding models burden the students with #debt. So much needs to be done in this space in India. Without a proper financial model in place, our institutions are totally at the mercy of bureaucrats and politicians. State #universities are already on their knees and it won't be long before the same happens with our centrally funded Institutions. Industry is the bridge between #research (generation of knowledge) and #innovation (utilization of knowledge for public good). With India ranked 66th among the 130 countries when it comes to academia-industry collaborations, it's clear what we need to do to promote innovation. It's again the Government which needs to make favorable policies for promoting #academia-#industry collaborations. Hope to see some of these #reforms taken up by the new government.

The Albanese Labor Government's introduction of new misinformation and disinformation legislation is just a renewed attack on freedom of speech in Australia. This terrible bill will be strongly opposed by One Nation Australia! Labor has never understood freedom of speech or how it works, and people always fear what they don’t understand. That’s why Labor wants to shut down freedom of speech. That’s why Labor wants to give itself the power to decide what is misinformation and disinformation, and use this power to silence honest debate and honest criticism. Labor is appalled at the very notion that Australians still have the right to say things that Labor doesn’t agree with. Labor doesn’t trust the Australian people to sort out truth from fiction for themselves. With this bill, Labor shows its contempt for the intelligence of the Australian people. Labor will use this power to silence dissent. If you speak the truth that gender ideology is contrived nonsense, or that climate change is a scam, or that COVID-19 vaccines are harmful – Labor will have the power to silence you. This bill is all the evidence this country needs to have a good, hard look at enshrining the right to free speech in the Constitution. One Nation tried to move an inquiry to kick start this process. Labor opposed it along with those other staunch opponents of free speech in Australia, the Greens. When are Australians going to wake up and understand these parties for what they are? They despise democracy and the principles which underpin its foundations. There is no democracy in Australia without freedom of speech, its most important principle. One Nation will always fight to protect true freedom of speech in our continual efforts to defend Australian democracy.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse in Queensland, school parents have been unpleasantly surprised by the government suddenly allowing schools to switch to a four-day week from 2024. At a time when Australian school education outcomes are falling against international benchmarks, and when teachers are leaving the sector in droves, the last thing we should do is shorten the school week. Australia fell from 14th to 19th in the 2023 rankings published by the OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment, or PISA, with China and Singapore at the top. Our school kids are two years behind their China and Singapore counterparts on science and maths. And back in 2017, UNICEF ranked Australian school education outcomes 39th out of 41 high-to-middle income countries. We’re in the fifth year of the Gonski 2.0 reforms, a commitment to more than 300 billion dollars in additional spending for education. Yet our standards and outcomes keep falling. Maybe if our schools stopped frightening kids about climate change, or making five-year-olds write apologies for the British settlement of Australia, we’d have better outcomes. Teachers are leaving in droves because of undisciplined classrooms and heavy workloads. In addition to delivering a poor curriculum, they’re taking on the roles of parents, counsellors and babysitters without adequate training or support. Cutting school hours in Queensland will only further dumb down our children. Over the decades we’ve allowed schools to become childcare centres and institutions pushing political agendas instead of real education and useful life skills. What hope do we have for the future? One Nation will fight this change at the Queensland state election, getting back to the basics that are the best foundation for a good education.
