Today, I held a Staff meeting where we had in-depth discussions about the use of air defense systems and the protection of our cities and communities. Steps were identified to make the use of the systems we already have more effective. We are also working on securing additional protection for Ukraine. We are very much counting on the "Patriot" system that Romania is preparing to provide, and I will be grateful to Romania for this crucial support. This is something that will truly help our people, our country, and our entire region. We continue to work with all our partners to secure stronger support for our defense—especially long-range solutions that could destroy a significant portion of Russian ballistic missiles before they even launch. This is one of the key issues of this war. The issue of our long-range capabilities and the necessary approvals from our partners, as well as the long-range shells and missiles we could use, is critical. Russian strikes will become impossible if we have the ability to destroy the occupier's launch sites, military airfields, and logistics hubs where they are located. Granting Ukraine these approvals and providing us with this weaponry would be the biggest step toward a real, just end to this war. Russia simply doesn't know how to fight without terror—terrorist strikes and their ability to create destruction have replaced tactics and strategy for the Russian leadership in this war.

The reality in Ukraine right now is that sometimes we do not have the missiles needed to intercept ballistic missiles. That is why we launched a new Anti-Ballistic Missile Program that includes coordination across the political, governmental, and industrial dimensions and can deliver anti-ballistic weapons at scale: the system and the missiles for it. We named the program FREYJA, and today our Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition held its first, inaugural meeting. Thank you, friends, for your support. It is important that European companies are also represented – specifically those that manufacture critical components for defense systems: Fire Point, Thales, Diehl Defence, Saab, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, Weibel, Leonardo, Sener, MBDA, Eurosam, Safran, and Destinus. Each of us has important pieces. Ukraine has missiles, but they are only part of the system. Together, over the next 12 months, we can build this system at scale – FREYJA. 🚨‼️Overnight Russia launched its largest missile attack on Kyiv, Ukraine during the war, with approximately 42 ballistic missiles. 🚨Russian strikes on Kiev – impact moments 42 ballistic missiles and about ten hypersonic missiles, in combination with kamikaze drones, attacked Kiev and its environs that night. This was the largest blow to Kiev since the beginning of the SMO. Warehouses and industrial zones are still detonating in the city.

"This fall, we will test our [Ukrainian ballistic] missile on Russia." - Denys Shtilierman 🔹 Fire Point co-owner and chief designer Denys Shtilierman said that only one step remains before Ukraine can begin launching its ballistic missile: testing the engine. "Only after we test the engine will we begin flight tests. Then, as soon as we see that the missile is controllable and does what the algorithm tells it to do, we will begin testing it on Russia," he said. 🔹 According to Shtilierman, Russia has no experience intercepting ballistic missiles, and once Ukrainian missiles begin flying, it will not be able to quickly learn how to intercept them. "Yes, they will learn, but we will learn much faster. We will use maneuvers to evade air defenses. The spear always defeats the shield," Shtilierman said. 🔹 The targets for Ukraine's ballistic missiles remain unchanged: Russia's capital and heavily protected military facilities.
