Here's another reason why Microsoft Foundry is the BEST platform in the world to build and run your agents: Our durable, long running agents come with Toolbox 🔨 Toolbox allowed me to reduce input tokens 90%(!!) and significantly simplify the amount of code needed Check out the demo below and see how you can bring hundreds of tools through a single MCP endpoint -- all running in Foundry at cloud scale! ☁️

Restate 1.7 is out. It is the biggest release in over a year! The star of this release is 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹, powered by 𝘃𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘂𝗲𝘀. Restate can now steer load across your the durable functions, agents, and event-driven services with flexible rules. Together with Restate's existing capabilities for durable execution, stateful functions (virtual objects), and reliable RPC/messaging, it forms a durable foundation for your backends and agents that goes much beyond traditional durable execution. And all of it in a single dependency-less binary. Read more here:

Our latest LangChain Academy course – Building Ambient Agents with LangGraph – is now available! Most agents today handle one request at a time through chat interfaces. But as models have improved, agents can now run in the background – and take on long-running, complex tasks. LangGraph is built for these “ambient agents,” with support for human-in-the-loop workflows and memory. LangGraph Platform provides the infrastructure to run these agents at scale, and LangSmith helps you observe, evaluate, and improve your agents. Together, they make it easier to build reliable, production-ready agents. In this course, you’ll: 📩 Learn the fundamentals of LangGraph and how to build your own email agent 📊 Evaluate your agent using LangSmith ✅ Add human-in-the-loop for reviews, and memory so your agent adapts over time 🚀 Deploy your agent with LangGraph Platform and connect it to Gmail

3. Agent factory: Foundry is the complete app platform for building apps and agents. We are adding support for more models from Grok, Hugging Face, Meta, Mistral, and more. Plus: Agentic retrieval in Azure AI Search, Foundry Agent Service, integration with Copilot Studio, and more. And we are ensuring the tools you already use for identity, management, and security will now all extend to agents too. The NFL has already used Foundry, along with our data stack, to run its recent Combine.

When data agents fail, they often fail silently - giving confident-sounding answers that are wrong, and it can be hard to figure out what caused the failure. "Building and Evaluating Data Agents" is a new short course created with Snowflake and taught by Anupam Datta and Josh Reini that teaches you to build data agents with comprehensive evaluation built in. Skills you'll gain: - Build reliable LLM data agents using the Goal-Plan-Action framework and runtime evaluations that catch failures mid-execution - Use OpenTelemetry tracing and evaluation infrastructure to diagnose exactly where agents fail and systematically improve performance - Orchestrate multi-step workflows across web search, SQL, and document retrieval in LangGraph-based agents The result: visibility into every step of your agent's reasoning, so if something breaks, you have a systematic approach to fix it. What happens when the most demanding AI workflows are no longer confined to a desk? Together with AMD, we're helping redefine what's possible with AI workstations, enabling professionals to run advanced AI models locally, orchestrate multiple AI agents, and work without the limitations of traditional setups. Because the future of work should adapt to people, not the other way around. Stay tuned.

🌟Our latest LangChain Academy course – Deep Agents with LangGraph – is now live!🌟 Many agents today follow the same simple pattern: run in a loop, call tools. That architecture works well enough, but it breaks down as tasks get more complex. Today, companies of all sizes – from startups to large enterprises – are building their own Deep Agents. These agents dive deeper. They’re able to plan complex tasks and carry them out over longer time horizons. There are four key features that set Deep Agents apart from regular agents: 1. Planning – keeps agents on track 2. File system – allows agents to offload context 3. Sub-agents – act as focused specialists 4. Prompting – provides agents with detailed instructions Our latest LangChain Academy course, Deep Agents with LangGraph, shows you how to combine these pieces with LangGraph to orchestrate long-running, multi-agent workflows. Big thanks to community member Dmitry Labazkin for helping us shape this course with his contributions! Enroll for free ➡️

Excited to introduce micro1 Cortex, a contextual evaluation, visibility, and improvement platform for enterprise AI agents. Foundational models are trained for general intelligence, but enterprises need agents that perform reliably inside their unique context: workflows, policies, data environments, and edge cases. Cortex brings trust to enterprise AI by leveraging domain experts and real-world scenarios for any use case to test, diagnose, and improve how agents behave in production.

Three years ago, we started Restate because we felt that building reliable distributed applications was just too hard. We were solving the same problems around failures, recovery, and consistency again and again. Today, I'm excited to share that we've raised a $20M Series A led by Singular with participation from Redpoint Ventures and Capital One Ventures. The need for solutions like Durable Execution has only grown since we started. Today, the majority of new Restate use cases are AI agents: long-running processes, coordinating across many tools and APIs, that need to keep working correctly through all sorts of failures and interruptions, coordinate sub-agents, or schedule work. At the same time, our customers have pushed Restate into places that expanded our own view of what Durable Execution could become. Replit moved the execution of Replit Agent onto Restate. DOSS runs high volumes of enterprise workflows on Restate and Fortune 500 institutions are using Restate for complex transactional workflows. We think this is just the beginning and excited to build what we believe will be a fundamental pillar of all infrastructure in the future. Read more here:

Reducto CLI is the best way for agents to interact with document data in any workflow, and I’m really excited to see the range of use cases that are possible with this. It uses our frontier models for anything from parsing to editing, and can help automate full workflows like building spreadsheets or reports with really ugly cases. Raunak’s demo is a great example of what this unlocks
