I’ve traveled to over a dozen countries embracing the local cuisine & eating etiquette. There’s nothing primitive about eating with your hands, it’s culture. There was a Moroccan restaurant called Dar Maghreb in L.A. Meals were shared and eaten with our hands. Wonderful.

It’s ironic that as a country most foods are made to be eaten on the go. No silverware necessary because we’re not meant to slow down. The idea of having multiple jobs to get by means grabbing food that can be eaten without cutlery. A pretty American trait if you ask me.

Great video. And it's not just dinner etiquette that's been colonised. It looks cringey when dignitaries from the global south feel obliged to wear a suit and tie to meetings (even to domestic meetings). The Gulf State leaders are vassals but at least not with attire.
