This is debatable. PS3 1 gen had the same features with some enhancements, although PS2 had better RPGs than PS3.

Changed the game when it could play movies

it could really do it all. plus that backwards compatibility allowing it to play an additional 8+ year catalog of ps1 games made it untouchable

As much as I’m an Xbox guy, PS2 really changed everything gotta give it the prize. Although, Nintendo really was the pioneer that got us into story games, shooting games, racing and of course Tecmo Bowl, Double Dribble and blades of steel.
