Greatest tv show ever made.

I avoided it for years because I assumed it glorified immorality and materialism, but it actually does a good job of showing the harmful effects of living a lifestyle of meaningless pursuits.

One of the best uses of music in visual media ever. Totally worth the $250k they spent to have this song in the episode. Don might wanna shut off The Beatles - but he can’t stop the cultural revolution. Always loved the way this scene cuts to black/credits.

This show should be free to public for its significance to American culture.

This may be one of the best scenes in television ever poignant writing, no overacting, universal theme sublime

This is, without a doubt, one of the most powerful sales pitches I have ever seen in my life

Definitely is. The setting and the acting are both top notch but the script is out of this world. Being able to capture the complexity of so many different people and keeping their personalities intact for such a long time is insane.

Agreed - watched it through 3 times and every time I come away loving it more

Truly, a brilliant show. This may have been the best segment in the whole series. Especially when you know that the slides are all from the narrators family at a time when he and his wife are struggling and contemplating divorce.

Mad men is such an underrated show, I feel no one talks about it ever, the characters, the dialogue, the humor, the acting, its an absolute top tier show.

Best written show ever. It was damn near perfect. Slightly above Sopranos and the wire. Such good shows.

It's better than the Sopranos and is my number one too.

never watched it. still worth it today?

The only thing that ruins this scene is Duck, once you find out what an absolute piece of shit this guy is. Don wove miracles, and Duck just rode the coattails.

Did not know this show was built like that

This show is so good that many people miss the great irony: as an art form, though the character of D. Draper, we are sold something, therefore diminishing the art itself.

Greatest what? lol

Such a well made show, great storytelling and phenomenal acting.

There's another one whose characters were base on real people...

I’ve watched this show at least 6x start to finish and I never noticed how this pitch moved HARRY CRANE of all people to tears. WOW.

I have Mad Men tied with The Wire. Best all time

Greatness in every episode and season

Stupid show.

Internet dictionary: Greatest = My favorite

I would instantly buy if a salesman did that to me

one of the best scenes I’ve ever watched on TV

Insanely good scene. Best upsell of a product I’ve ever seen dramatized

Great show and perfect scene for the topic - coming where this does in the season with the Don & Betty buildup, it is the first “oh damn” moment in the show. Depending on what’s going on in your own life… we can all be Harry Crane in this scene. Powerful.

Almost - )

It’s a Time Machine… epic

This is already one of the most amazing scenes in television. But the "Good Luck at your next meeting." shows you they knew it.

Concur

Best scene in the series. The first time I watched this I was floored, and it’s even sweeter the second time around after getting a bit older.

Yes, I go back-and-forth in my mind whether SOPRANOS or MADMEN is the not only the greatest art form on TV, but the greatest art of the 21 st century. Not going to compare it to Coltrane, or the Dutch Masters, Picasso, Fitzgerald, or Hemingway. However, for the 21st-century…??

It's wild how sentimental people get about a show where people .....grew up and acted like adults. A show where everyone judged and was judged immediately. A show where people understood that work was important to keep the mind from thinking itself into insanity, and if you fall in love then family is that continued beauty.
