Greenland's Petermann Glacier collapse

Collapse... Because it sounds scary, but its just a normal thing.

Cool. Maybe Greenland will one day be green again!

That’s called calving. Happens all the time.

Glaciers move. This one is at the ocean... as it expands, it's going to calve. Try and learn something other than "the sky is falling."

Calving is not "collapse." Glacier collapse is a different thing altogether. This particular glacier is GROWING. It has added 10 miles recently.

Iv seen bigger in Alaska ten times that

Oh no! Did somebody leave it out in the SUN?!?

This looks pretty standard for a glacier. What is your point?

Oh No! That's never happened before! What are we going to do!

Glaciers are not a permanent fixture on planet Earth. They come and go over time.

Oh no, how are we going to get our cocktail’s ice now?

the comments acting like this is a vacation planning thread and not a glacier collapsing is so on brand

So it’s just calving into the ocean as it’s done for millennia…

@grok how long does it takes to an glacier turn this color?

That is cool.

☔️👌

Beautiful!

@grok is this real or ai? Can you give us anymore details?

Cool.
