Best advice I can give you is take a short time to grieve. Then, realize he’s never really gone, he’s always by your side still. Then get another puppy

Not for awhile... we have an older cat yet and two very busy boys. Maybe when they're older and driving. But not right now.

Completely understandable. I just can’t, myself, go without a dog in my life. My boy , Castle, needs a hernia surgery and neuter. Plus, he’s got a herniated disc. He’s great. My 100 pound meat missile of love me now ready or not.

Sorry to hear this news Ship. I lost Tyson 2 weeks ago. We are so lucky to have them as family.

Hope this helps, if only a little. R.I.P. We are bery sorry for your loss.

@Squallstrike Very sorry for your loss.

So sorry you are going through this heartbreak. I know how hard this stuff is. I just went through the same thing with my sweet girl. It broke me. This is the first week I can even talk about it. Hang in there. You were a great mommy who did the right thing at the right time. Mine stopped eating and I knew it was time. 😢 I still can’t bear to change my profile pic yet. 💔

It’s in the shots! I lost two of my dogs this year to “cancer” which I believe were caused by the shots!

He wasn't vaccinated.

I thought it would hit when you made breakfast and he wasn’t there 😔. Mine is semi senile, blind and clingy to me it’s a chore sometimes but one we willingly do out of love. He seemed happy you could tell he had a good home.🩵

It really is a relief to know they’re not suffering anymore.

we had to put our 6 year old boxer down due to cancer. i feel you pain through the video. F cancer

You loved and took care of him his whole life, and you did the right thing by him at the end, you couldn't have done more, I'm sorry for your loss 🙏👊

Prayers to you and your family ship.

@prayer_x10 I am so sorry for your loss. You can hear the sadness in your voice. Thank you for the love you showed your sweet pup and I know he felt that. Keeping you and your family in my prayers

Again, I’m so sorry. It’s one of the worst types of grief. I’m still trying to deal with losing mine over a year later. I still hear her little toenails on the wood floor sometimes. So very sorry you’re going through this. 💔

So, so sorry 😞

"Dear God, please bless this furry little angel that has brought so much love into her life. Though we will miss them, we know they are in a better place, free from pain."

Your pain is our pain. We love and pray for your family ❤️😢🙏

Oh no I'm so sorry 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I'll pray for your entire family

You were an exceptional caring pet owner. Putting your pets needs first. Feeling relief afterwards is totally normal. Don't feel guilty. The stress of caretaking is over. That frees up senses you've had shut down. Time to breathe. Care for you now. 🙏

😔 😢

The grief, relief and guilt are all normal. I went through the same thing with my Boston! Sad, but relieved. I’m sure parts of your life got put on hold because you didn’t trust anyone to watch him and didn’t want to burden someone with watching him. I totally get what you’re going through. I was there!! He’s fully restored now on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. And might have come across a chonky grumpy Boston named Sammy. They can gas it up together!! 🩷🩷

Girl, I hate it for you. My sweet boy Jake passed away December and I still cry. I guess I’m selfish because I don’t feel any relief. I would’ve kept him here forever. This pain is the closest I can imagine to lose a child. They just don’t last long enough or as long as we need.

@Patriot_Phillip You’re relieved because he’s out of pain. One of the hardest parts of animal ownership is the day when we have to say goodbye. You gave him the best life and he took that with him. You did the right thing. I pray your heart heals with all the sweet happy memories you had w/him.♥️

Oh my heart aches for you. I know this grief too well. Praying for your family’s broken heart🙏

I appreciate your sharing the roller coaster of emotions that accompany this painful loss. So many of us know, in our hearts, how you feel. What a joy to have known him. 💖🐶

@RANDOLPHHAYES4 💕💕💕

@RANDOLPHHAYES4 RIP little buddy

Sending you immense love and lifting your family up in prayer. It hurts so much because we love them so much.. my condolences 😞🫶🏻

I’m sorry Ship. It’s so hard. The relief you feel - know most of it is for him. You had made plans so he had a good passing. That was your main concern. You are relieved he won’t suffer anymore. Animals give a house a heartbeat. I have had to put down a dog & a horse. Traumatic.

We have a ten year old frenchie that had a tumor on her leg. We had it removed and it came back. We then had it biopsied and it was cancer. We gave turkeytail mushroom and fenbendazole. The tumor went away and it’s still gone after over 2 years.

So sorry for your loss!!! We had to put our cat to sleep. I had never done that and it was horrible. I bawled the entire time. I was such a mess they let us out the back door. I do not blame you for not going. I don't ever want to experience that again. Ever. Sending hugs♡

Crying while watching this. This was me a week ago. The guilt and the grief are battling it out. ✌️🫶

I lost my girl Molly a few weeks ago. It’s rough— take care of yourself💜

Had to put our big guy Goliath down on the 1st. Hasn't been a good month for many on this front. Thoughts and prayers that way to all sis

Oh sweet lady, I feel you and understand that mixed emotion you are feeling. I had to do this for our 13 year sweet girl a year ago. My vet helped my by explaining my girl was so grateful that I loved her enough to do for her what she couldn’t do for herself. Give yourself time and grace. It sucks no matter how you slice it but it was your love for him that wanted peace for him.

Sorry for your loss. You-never really get over the loss, just try and think of all the good stuff.
