Grok 3 is my newest phone assistant. I programmed an iPhone Shortcut that when I tap twice, it will answer anything using the xAI API. It can even explain what I’m seeing in real-time.

To get started, you’ll need an @xAI API key. Make sure you have some credits on it. Also, you’ll need an iPhone since we’ll be using the app Shortcuts.

Open Shortcuts, tap the “+” button, and click on “Add Action” to start building your shortcut.

Next, you’ll need to add a “Dictate Text” that will act as your prompt and a “text” variable for the API key you obtained in the first step.

Time to call Grok 3. Add a “Get contents of URL” and have the following items 👇 Note: For vision, use the “grok-2-vision-1212” and you’ll need to add Screenshot and Encoding capabilities.

Finally, add a “Obtain Value from Dictionary” and “Show” the final answer. Pro Tip: Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Touch -> Back Tap -> Double Tap and add your shortcut.
