“The reasoning capabilities of Grok are incredible. Grok 4.5 is smarter than almost all graduate students in all disciplines simultaneously. It’s actually just important to appreciate that that’s really something. There are some people out there who think AI can’t reason, and look it can reason at superhuman levels. So yeah, and frankly, it only gets better from here.” — Elon Musk

ELON: GROK 4 IS SMARTER THAN PHDs AND COULD INVENT NEW TECHNOLOGY THIS YEAR Elon said Grok 4 surpassed PhD-level intelligence in every subject, no exceptions. He admitted it still lacks some common sense but predicted it’s only a matter of time before it starts creating entirely new technology and even discovering new physics. “Grok 4 is better than PhD level in every subject. No exceptions. It has not yet invented new technologies or discovered new physics, but that is just a matter of time. I think it may discover new technologies as soon as later this year, and I would be shocked if it has not done so next year.” Source: Tesla Owners Silicon Valley

Grok CLI >>> Cursor and Claude Code We wanted an IDE for xAI's Grok so we did something meta: we prompted the newly released Grok 4 to create... Grok CLI itself! Grok CLI can: 1. Modify local files and use the shell 2. Go through huge codebases and fix them 3. Persist for longer and solve really complex math and physics problems Instant setup on Replit ⠕ Bonus: Can create and run ai agents with it's completely open source!! link to the code: link to the repl:

ELON: I’D BE SHOCKED IF GROK HASN’T DISCOVERED NEW PHYSICS BY NEXT YEAR “With respect to academic questions, Grok 4 is better than PhD-level in every subject. No exceptions. At times it may lack common sense and it has not yet invented new technologies or discovered new physics, but that is just a matter of time. I think it may discover new technologies as soon as later this year and I would be shocked if it has not done so next year. So I would expect Grok to literally discover new technologies that are actually useful no later than next year and maybe end of this year and it might discover new physics next year and within two years, I'd say almost certainly. Just let that sink in.” Source: Grok 4 Presentation, July 9, 2025

"Grok 5 will be the smartest AI in the world by a significant margin on every metric, without exception. Grok 5 is the first time where I thought, we have a chance of achieving Artificial General Intelligence. It'll be both extremely intelligent, and extremely fast."

🚨 Elon Musk on Grok 3.5: "With Grok 3.5, that is about to be released, it's trying to reason from first principles. The focus of Grok 3.5 is to find the fundamentals of physics and applying physics tools across all lines of reasoning and to aspire to truth with minimal error. So apply kind of the tools of physics to thinking, and you know physics, if you violate conservation of energy or momentum, then you're either going to get a Nobel Prize, or you're wrong. We aim to get to truth with acknowledged error, but minimize that error over time. And I think that's actually extremely important for AI safety. So I've put a lot for a long time about AI safety, and conclusion is the old maxim that honesty is the best policy."
