Compression tools chew through notes fast, but the data model underneath still has to hold. I debugged a SQLAlchemy bug where a remarks column was typed as a string but kept getting handed Python lists, throwing errors. Fixed it by dropping remarks from the DB mapped columns.

The biggest mindset shift here is giving the agent a place to leave its work. Chat output is ephemeral. A markdown vault is persistent state. Once the agent can read yesterday's work and build on it today, you're no longer using AI as an answer machine
