Another example of video extension using the latest Grok Imagine update: I created an image in Grok Imagine. I animated it. Then I clicked on video extension: you can choose 6 seconds or 10 seconds, write an animation prompt, and select the starting image. This ensures perfect continuity of the scene: fluidity of the image and sound atmosphere (music and sound effects).

Another example of video extension using the latest Grok Imagine update: I created an image in Grok Imagine. I animated it. Had to try Grok Imagine after seeing Heavy Pulp’s latest work. I used Grok Imagine’s still image creation and new multi-image video reference feature for the video, no other AI model were used. I have no movie editing or movie creation skills whatsoever, just an eye for aesthetic. I added a consistent cinematic style, character and scene setting along with simple prompts. Extending scenes was flawless, the speed to render iterations was nuts, and realism is high level. 3 hours in total to produce. Must try Grok Imagine.

TurboEdit Instant text-based image editing discuss: We address the challenges of precise image inversion and disentangled image editing in the context of few-step diffusion models. We introduce an encoder based iterative inversion technique. The inversion network is conditioned on the input image and the reconstructed image from the previous step, allowing for correction of the next reconstruction towards the input image. We demonstrate that disentangled controls can be easily achieved in the few-step diffusion model by conditioning on an (automatically generated) detailed text prompt. To manipulate the inverted image, we freeze the noise maps and modify one attribute in the text prompt (either manually or via instruction based editing driven by an LLM), resulting in the generation of a new image similar to the input image with only one attribute changed. It can further control the editing strength and accept instructive text prompt. Our approach facilitates realistic text-guided image edits in real-time, requiring only 8 number of functional evaluations (NFEs) in inversion (one-time cost) and 4 NFEs per edit. Our method is not only fast, but also significantly outperforms state-of-the-art multi-step diffusion editing techniques.

You know a technology is good when you don't even realize you've used it. For this scene, - I created the character as an image with Grok Imagine, then the landscape with Grok, and combined everything using Grok Imagine's image references. - I then used video extensions to avoid cuts and style changes. The character is perfectly integrated into the scene, proportions respected and style preserved.

InstantDrag Improving Interactivity in Drag-based Image Editing discuss: Drag-based image editing has recently gained popularity for its interactivity and precision. However, despite the ability of text-to-image models to generate samples within a second, drag editing still lags behind due to the challenge of accurately reflecting user interaction while maintaining image content. Some existing approaches rely on computationally intensive per-image optimization or intricate guidance-based methods, requiring additional inputs such as masks for movable regions and text prompts, thereby compromising the interactivity of the editing process. We introduce InstantDrag, an optimization-free pipeline that enhances interactivity and speed, requiring only an image and a drag instruction as input. InstantDrag consists of two carefully designed networks: a drag-conditioned optical flow generator (FlowGen) and an optical flow-conditioned diffusion model (FlowDiffusion). InstantDrag learns motion dynamics for drag-based image editing in real-world video datasets by decomposing the task into motion generation and motion-conditioned image generation. We demonstrate InstantDrag's capability to perform fast, photo-realistic edits without masks or text prompts through experiments on facial video datasets and general scenes. These results highlight the efficiency of our approach in handling drag-based image editing, making it a promising solution for interactive, real-time applications.

I downloaded and used the Grok app in the Chrome browser. I updated it to the latest version and cleared cookies. I also disabled all ad-blocking programs. Both videos were created using Grok, and the difference between the first and second videos appears to be only the different outfits. Has the level of image editing functionality changed?

It took me less than 10 minutes to create this scene. The longest part was finding the style for my initial image. I used Grok Imagine's extension video to ensure perfect continuity of style, voice, and music. Then I animated it, prompting in my native language without asking for any dialogue. Grok understood everything I asked and created a dialogue between the children in perfect French. I later posted the same children with a prompt in English, and this time, the dialogue was in English. I used Grok Imagine to create the image, animate it, and then extend the video to 30 seconds. I then started again with an image that I modified through editing and used it to tell another story.

It's not just about the quality of the output, but about how much control you have over your video's look. Watch my video here. I'm attaching reference images and asking the model to generate a video using them. I can reference each image using the @ symbol to instruct the model which image to use. You can even upload a clip and use its camera movement, styles from an image, and audio vibe from a track. By the way, you can take an existing video and replace, remove, or add elements to it while the model preserves everything else. This is the closest we've gotten to "editing videos like photos".
