Agent Mode lets you delegate tasks like searching or browsing to an agent inside a virtual desktop inside ChatGPT. You can spin up multiple little “workers” to fire off tasks and keep tabs as they chug through your to-do list AT THE SAME TIME. If it gets stuck or goes off track, you can take over manually. The UI is friendly and keeps the reasoning transparent, so you’re not left guessing what it’s doing or why. It’s not perfect and doesn’t give you as many artifacts as other players in the space, but a strong platform for “let’s see how much I can hand off and supervise”, and a first step toward managing fleets of AI workers instead of pinging a single chatbot for answers. We now have a fully open-source coding agent that can compete with any proprietary solution out there: • 500+ available models • It doesn't train on your code • It doesn't charge a penny for tokens • It's open. You can change if you want. Kilo Code is the #1 app on OpenRouter right now, and the community is releasing new features on GitHub at rocket speed (about 20 releases in the last 30 days). I installed it in Visual Studio Code, but you can install it in pretty much any IDE. I need to spend more time with it, but here is a very interesting design choice: Most coding agents support two modes: an "agentic" mode for writing code and an "ask" mode for talking to the model without making any changes. Kilo Code supports 5 different modes: 1. Architect mode - Research, design, and planning 2. Debug mode - Problem solving and troubleshooting 3. Code mode - To write code. 4. Ask mode - To talk to the model. 5. Orchestrator mode - Combine every agent to solve problems. On paper, I really like this. We spent 30 minutes documenting exactly what PostPal needed to do. Then gave it to ChatGPT: "Create a Lovable prompt from this PRD." Copy. Paste. Done. 2/ Your first prompt sets everything. That initial Lovable prompt? It's your foundation. Give it the full high-level vision. Every feature. Every flow. Lovable uses this context for everything that follows. Get this wrong and you'll rebuild from scratch. 3/ Database first, frontend second. Biggest mistake I see: Building the entire UI, then trying to connect data. Set up Supabase immediately. Create your tables. Configure role-level security. Build backend and frontend together, not separately. 4/ Go feature by feature. Don't attack all screens at once. Pick one core feature. Build it completely. Connect it to your database. Test it. Then move to the next. Each feature should be fully functional before moving on. 5/ Chat mode is your debugging superpower. Your code never leaves your machine. The public TestFlight is now open, and a demonstration is below. You pair your phone by scanning a QR code, either on your local network or from anywhere through Tailscale. From there TethrX streams Grok's reasoning, tool calls, command output and file changes as they happen, and asks your approval before anything runs. Plan mode lets you read the plan before the work begins. When a task finishes you can review exactly what changed. TethrX lists the modified files in your project, shows a diff for each one, and lets you commit or discard the work without leaving your phone. The app supports slash commands, including /compact and any skills you have installed, along with voice dictation, queued messages and reusable prompts. Sessions can be searched and organised into folders, and you can pair several computers and switch between them. You can spin up an AI workforce with one prompt. Here's why it works: it pulls the context the AI needs to lay the foundation. Give it: - your role - team size - the goals you want to hit. Then say "interview me." After that, build it out in four steps: 1) Start with 1 agent. - What does it feel like to work with one? 2) Make that agent proactive. - Now it's doing things on your behalf before you ask. 3) Expand to 2 agents. - One directs the other, or routes to it. - This is where you learn how context gets passed. 4) Scale the workforce. - A mission control where you watch it all move around. - Now you see what has to run in parallel, which agent never needed that tool, which one runs fine on a smaller model. - Not everything needs Opus. Sub-agents are haiku and sonnet. The catch: the prompt gets you agents with markdown files doing some stuff. Getting to the 90% plus level is iteration, and that part is specific to each person. Nobody can hand it to you. Start with one agent. Spin up one agent this week. The rest is discovery.

After that, build it out in four steps: 1) Start with 1 agent. - What does it feel like to work with one? 2) Make that agent proactive. - Now it's doing things on your behalf before you ask. 3) Expand to 2 agents. - One directs the other, or routes to it. - This is where you learn how context gets passed. 4) Scale the workforce. - A mission control where you watch it all move around. - Now you see what has to run in parallel, which agent never needed that tool, which one runs fine on a smaller model. - Not everything needs Opus. Sub-agents are haiku and sonnet. The catch: the prompt gets you agents with markdown files doing some stuff. Getting to the 90% plus level is iteration, and that part is specific to each person. Nobody can hand it to you. Start with one agent. Spin up one agent this week. The rest is discovery.
