“Grok, remember this parking spot.” The latest addition to my custom setup. Grok can now save a parking spot and adjust the pin if FSD gets it wrong. Keep the ideas coming. This has been fun to build.

My wife and I have been Tesla drivers since 2015 and watched Autopilot grow into FSD. The latest parking-spot setup will make things a lot more convenient. Another change I’d like as a preference, not a default for every Tesla: when on FSD, move to the right lane at least 1.5 miles before an exit. Right now it stays in the left lane and forces the move in what seems like the last hundred feet or so. That last-second cut-in is frustrating, and it can be the thing that sets off the driver I just pulled in front of. Some people don’t mind the late merge. I do. Is an early-exit lane preference something you can look at?

Hmmm I know what you mean. I’m not sure I would have any influence to FSD’s lane behavior but let me see if I can think of a clever way.

All I hope is that Tesla is watching because all of these ideas are awesome - I would never use this approach just because I have enough shit going on in my life but, with that being said they should be trying to release these capabilities tomorrow

Thank you! I appreciate it. Definitely fun to ideate with what’s possible now and hopefully Tesla is cooking something far beyond this.

@JSX423 Where do you find these connectors? This is amazing, and thank you for sharing, Spencer

@JSX423 I built the service and connector. Thank you!

How are you doing these??? I would use all of these plus some more! Take the next exit and go to a convenience store would be awesome, and I'd love a 'back into this spot every time' for my house. 🤣

Spencer's profile picture
Spencer2 days ago

Some creative engineering. Through a few different APIs and databases I was able to stand up a service that Grok can call on.

How did you build this Spencer? Was it a bot? Or did you just do it by prompting Grok? Is it something I can do a non-tech guy ?

Spencer's profile picture
Spencer2 days ago

It doesn’t hurt I work in the world of software development but a large chunk was completed by Fable

@MattBellomo777 @grok tell me how @scotsrule08 manages to teach the grok in Tesla to obey his commands. If you use jargon explain it.

Spencer built a custom backend service with APIs and databases, plus a connector. In-car Grok uses Connectors (or MCP tool-calling) to invoke that service on commands like “pull over” or “turn right.” The service then calls Tesla APIs (e.g. navigation) to execute. A large chunk of the code came from Fable, an AI coding model. He’s a software developer who engineered the integration himself.

This is awesome! Grok moved to the other side of my driveway. Grok back into the spot instead of nose in. Grok circled the block up ahead. I want to see if my friend is home.

This is great! Realistically, can we expect Tesla to adopt something like this soon? (For home fwd/rvs parking as well)?

Spencer's profile picture
Spencer2 days ago

Thank you! 🙏 Yes, I fully expect Tesla to launch something well beyond what this is capable of. If we look eastward at some of the ADAS systems they have incredibly advanced parking abilities including remembering an exact spot in a parking garage.

You should share this grok bot, minus personal info ofcourse. There are many of us that would be interested in using it.

Spencer's profile picture
Spencer2 days ago

This actually isn’t a Grok bot. It’s a service I built and then use a connector to give Grok the ability to connect to it.

Can you please make one that changes the profiles to keep you in a speed band (aka, speed control)... Hey Grok - keep me around 65mph It would essentially live from chill to standard to hurry to standard etc. It's crazy I even have to ask that says Tesla had this figured out for 4 years but.... I am asking

I have something that works in theory for this but it requires and Enhance Auto commander to work.
