Group of seniors protesting against Mark Carney’s easing of environmental protections being arrested on Parliament Hill

The seniors are wearing photos of their grandchildren. They were arrested for trespassing on Parliament Hill after protesting what they view as the Liberal Government’s easing of environmental protections

Two things come to mind: 1. Not a good look for the govt. 2. Of all the protests that the police stand by and watch, this is what they crack down on 🤦🏻‍♂️

Should have said they wanted a meeting with the GG to talk the overthrow of the Gov't. They could have stayed for a month!

They’re right that the next generation will carry the cost of today’s choices. That’s also true of the debt. If the grandkids are the point, the deficit belongs in the same conversation.

PEOPLE! They can protest OUTSIDE the gates. After the October 2014 atttack on the Centre Block, protests were restricted to outside the perimeter. These people believed they were special evidently.

Hey @MarkJCarney this is a voter base you should not ignore, they are genuinely worried for the futures of their grandchildren, I am one of them and you can't count on us. That doesn't mean we'd vote Con, NEVER, but we will vote for our grandchildren. There are other options.

Ridiculous and unacceptable.. A Parliament Hill that bafflingly permits Convoy weirdos to protest without arrest should be as, if not more, respectful to a reasonable protest. Climate protest is reasonable protest if we are moving backwards.

There is ways of protesting BUT these seniors likely want to be videoed being arrested so they get more attention then if they just went through the process to allow them to protest.
