Have the body evolved along with control network?

right now part of the morphology is evolved (mostly for torso shape variations) and part of it is hand-designed (so it always produces a quadruped), but I'm working toward more automation to explore the space of possible forms and behaviors

literally me

The physics system looks very professional mf.

@RasputinKaiser what a cute lil friend !

that's amazing!

How I imagine a tardigrade would move

This is really cool! What do you plan to do with it?

generate more morphology variations and see how they move, maybe I'll revisit the idea of training a universal controller in 3D at some point, like what I did in 2D here

I am a big fan, following!

That's not new, that's just a head crab from Half-Life. :D

jiggli boi

brother this is a headcrab

ЧТО ЭТО ЗА ПРИЛОЖЕНИЕ? ВАУ

What is this? Where is this being simulated?

it's a 3D version of this

Looks great! OSS as well?

the 2D version is open source

That is a tardigrade.

pls delete this video of me

This is SO COOL!

Aw look at him go

reminds me of this

Cute! Can you make it get cancer?

That’s how a Frog do!

spring animal

wow, how do I do that?

why friend shaped

Very cool

Nice, plans to open source? Demo with a horse-like creature? Or a six legged one?

the 2D version is open source the 3D version just replaces triangles with tetrahedra to have a volumetric mesh, everything else is basically the same; new morphologies coming soon 👀

put some texture on it

aww my stupid lil tartigrade >.<

Please name him something absurd and obtuse, a dimwitted gentleman

Make a big cylinder

Cool

Holy moly this looks cool 👍👍!

I LOVE HIM

Cute

what software is this?

it's a 3D version of this

what framework do you use for this? I had a similar idea once to use karpathy's autoresearch with RL to evolve locomotion skills

this for the simulation (with some extensions to make it work in 3D) and PyTorch for training

Looks like an organism that would survive in outer space
