That was the saving grace – that people were aware that they were that young generation who were really against it. And so it worked very well for the world. Hustings before and after.. One of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve had in public life. My opponent lied throughout. He was then challenged on his claim to have served “in combat” by an 11 tour Veteran, which he could not stand up. I cannot believe I am standing against a real life Walter Mitty in Plymouth. If there is one place you don’t want to lie about your military service, it is this City. Veterans in the room - including one who was sunk in the Falklands - erupted and started to walk out. The hustings was ended. I respect everyone’s service. Anyone who knows anything about war knows it is all about luck - where you are deployed and when. But the number 1 rule is that you must never lie about it. It’s offensive to those who died. I cannot believe this individual is trying to propagate such a fraud on the people in Plymouth. It’s not about service; it’s about character and integrity. Mind blown.

Sometimes things happen for a reason. Toxic people have a way of removing themselves from your life and while showing their true colors at the same time. I used to have a friend in my friend group that I hung out with all the time. I thought we were all tight and we had fun every weekend. Turned out he was just using me for rides. What made it weird is that we hung out for years, I never saw it coming. It wasn’t until he drank too much that he let the truth slip out and from that point on I questioned his motives and it made me reflect on everything. I’m at a point in life now that I trimmed a lot of people out. I only keep a close circle. It turned out many family members were doing the same thing. It’s rough when you feel that there isn’t many you can trust. It makes you value the people close to you now even more. Have you ever had to cut someone out of your life? Do you regret it or feel guilt for it?

They told us they had the best and ours was wrong and while we were comparing and changing and dividing ourselves they were stealing our wealth. Now l am not telling to be or not be a Christian or Muslim. I don't care. All l want you to do is to think. If they did it to your forefathers and you still allow them to do it to you today, in this century of information and technology,then you are a bigger coward than those that sold us out in the past. #LiberateAfrica Now is the time to rise up, not tomorrow.

I'm intrigued by Ant Middleton standing to be Mayor of London. As I explain below, one of the things that has led to so much of the crime and disorder in our towns and cities is the disappearance of the Non-Commissioned Officer in public life. When I was growing up, almost every town had a police Sergeant, usually a man who had been a Sergeant Major in the armed forces. They were tough and knew how to command respect, but not domineering. They were the kinds of men that Rudyard Kipling respected and wrote so much about. This figure has been shouldered out of our society. Bringing it back would do much to restore a sense of order and civility to our streets.
