i’d probably switch to linux but the one thing that kills that idea is all my music stuff being mainly windows only

i also looking it up for FL Studio or Ableton Live You can use Wine to run it on Linux i see it run fine for most part and can finish music with it too if you not sure you can grab some old laptop and install linux just to try it

this is interesting ill look into it more, im just not entirely sure on making the switch yet because they only showed support for default plugins so i have no idea if it supports custom plugins, also i just moved onto windows 10 like a week ago and i dont want to switch too fast

yeah i moved on to ltsc like 2 weeks ago and got insanely lucky that the windows.old saved me because i didnt back up my c drive

Problem I have with linux is last time I used it daily it became an unhealthy obsession because I would be fucking around with my dotfiles all day not even exaggerating. Linux + Neurodivergence = bad things.

For cachyos and the KDE you are using, i fellin love with how you used it on the video, and what kind of files would i loose, i still use window and i need some programs for my university, like autocad, civil3d, word and excel

500gb is more than enough yeah If you want to upgrade you can plug in and set up like how you do on windows too Make sure to watch tutorial before installing if this is your first time

Well if your game is not any riot games or fortnite or call of duty and battlefield or those that have kernel level anti-cheat It's working flawlessly (yes even roblox can run on linux) For drawing there linux native app called Krita it's free For pixel art we have Aseprite

The problem is that krita is no good for me, i really need to work with csp, prob if i get a secondary pc or smth i will def play with linux

Sorry, I may be dumb, but if I use Linux would I still be able to faff around with game engines like Godot? That might be honestly the main thing that's held me back from switching from Windows, since I know a lot of games I play run on Linux now anyways.

On linux you just run 1 line of code to install And that is you got it If you want something like firefox try zen or waterfox

Linux is really great, I switched to it a few months ago and everything has been fantastic, The only problem for me would be the drawing programs and the graphics tablet driver, which Linux doesn't recognize ☹️☹️

i tried CACHYos for the first 6 months this year, it was cool but had some issues that i did not manage to fix, gaming wise and i just gave up and returned to windows, maybe i dual boot this time and leave windows purely for gaming on one 1t ssd and use the other ssd for Mdriver

remember to backup. sometime you tweak linux and it greaks grub. unless you know how to recover

It's came with KDE for me i'm not sure if other DE have it i seen something similar in other DE from youtube tho but for KDE it's in Task Switcher and Animation is Cover Switch

I would gladly move to Linux If only I could still use Clip Studio, and my library from steam, and multilayer games like Fortnite (Mainly to play with friends) Hope that one day all that can be possible without having to learn to code

Only issue I have with Helium is that it doesn't play Netflix. I am not sure if that is going to change in the future, but for now, that kinda sucks having to juggle 2 browsers. Also, nice distro choice. I am running Kubuntu, KDE is really good, isn't it?
