I thought he was whack at first, but I started appreciating his rhymes later. It's basic, but at least he rode the beat and has punchlines with quotes. I was young, so I was more into the rappers with more wordplay and metaphors, like Ludacris and Tip. Jeezy had a similar style to Gucci or at least at one point, but I feel that he used more wordplay. Icy grew on me over time, but I really started getting into him with songs like Freaky Gurl, Lemonade, Wasted and Steady Mobbin. I didn't listen to mixtapes like that until after the 2010's, so the singles and the radio songs were all I knew.
