JUST IN: Trump says he doesn't want to get involved after a reporter asked if he'd call on Republican Curtis Sliwa to drop out of the NYC mayoral race. Reporter: A new poll shows that if Curtis Sliwa dropped out, then Cuomo would only trail Mamdani by 4 points. Would you call Curtis Sliwa to drop out? Trump: "I looked at the polls, and it looks like we're going to have a communist as the mayor of New York. It'll be very interesting, but here's the good news: he's got to go through the White House." "I don't know that I want to get involved..."

There's a new way to edit tracks in town 🤠 It’s now easier than ever to regenerate a specific section of a track that you’re not happy with, and to make line-by-line lyric edits to your songs post-generation. If you ever tried out our old ‘Inpainting’ tool, this is its more intuitive, less frustrating successor. Just tap ‘Edit’ and then ‘Replace Section’ or ‘Edit Lyrics’ on any track in your library to try it out. Feature available for paid subscribers (& on desktop browsers) only.

Be for real right now, are you COMPLETELY over the Battle Bus Victory Royale in Fortnite? This thing has to go. It's beyond annoying now. Even with the friendship bubble people are STILL toxic and just shockwave each other out. Unless they can make it so you can't shock people out and there's a permanent friendship bubble around it I want it out of the game. Don't you miss a good old fashioned battle royale ending to a match?

These two college track athletes say they built a $20K MRR app with zero coding experience "just by talking to AI". "We went to Rork, and we literally just talked to it like ChatGPT. Like, we tell it, hey, we want the UI interface to be so-and-so." "Back in the day, you'd have to scan 300 lines of code, find the exact code, and change it. You don't have to do that. It does it for you."

If you missed our interview with @ americanmcgee and Stunt Puppet Pictures' co-creator Justin Rasch, check it out now! McGee told us about his new game project, and Rasch showed us how the stop-motion animation for Plushie Dreadfuls was made. "What I want to keep from the old games is the commitment to genuinely dark, psychologically honest storytelling, not shock for its own sake, but real emotional truth underneath the horror." "The unique hook is that the villains aren't monsters to be slain, they're wounded children, exactly like Robert. When you finally face the Triarchy at the end, you don't destroy them. You hold them. That's the whole thesis of the project in one mechanic: you don't heal by cutting parts of yourself away, you heal by picking them back up."

Next up, letter P: “Public Service Announcement (Interlude)” #JayZ30 #JayZ Just Blaze (Producer): “I made the ‘PSA’ beat in the headphones while the engineer was mixing whatever record we were working on. I made the beat in like 10 minutes. ...The next day, Jay is doing listening sessions for the press for ‘The Black Album.’ ...He would come in, drop four bars, do another press run. Come back in, drop four more bars, do a press run. Come back in, scrap the first eight bars and just give a whole new eight bars and add four more bars and go do another press run, which means as he’s doing press, he’s thinking about this beat in the back of his mind, and coming up with the song.” “Public Service Announcement (Interlude)” was the very last track recorded — created just one day before Lenny S and Young Guru brought ‘The Black Album’ to Tony Dawsey for mastering. Below is footage of the recording session that didn’t make the final cut of 2004’ ‘Fade to Black’ doc. It depicts how chaotic and stressful things were as everyone, including Young Guru and former Def Jam A&R director Darcell Lawrence, worked to meet deadlines, resolve a sampling issue, and finish the album.

Immortals of Aveum releases on August 22, and today we drop our official launch trailer, featuring @LilJufu's new single, "All Time Great!" It's easily one of the coolest creator marketing collaborations I've had the pleasure of working on over the years. Jufu exploded onto the TikTok music scene a few years ago, amassing 3M+ followers. You can find him on YouTube and Instagram too. He's a young guy who has been finding his voice, figuring out his music style, and signing deals with Def Jam in the process. At its core, Immortals of Aveum is about a hero’s journey, as Jak grows into and learns to utilize his unique abilities. Jufu’s on a similar journey and his music really resonated with us as an expression of Jak’s personality and swagger. Our game's soundtrack features several different genres of music including hip-hop, so it felt natural partnering with Jufu to make his new single the track for our launch trailer. But more than anything, I'm proud of our teams (Ascendant Studios / Electronic Arts / Def Jam Recordings) for partnering in a way that’s authentic to Julian's music and our game. That's the golden rule of influencer marketing, in my opinion! I hope you'll give the trailer a watch, and let me know what you think!
