Magnus gives a lot of opinions on every single thing. Even Goats of other sports like Michael Jordan, Mohd Ali, Michael Phelps, Sachin Tendulkar, Roger Federer, Tiger Woods never gave these many opinions about important matches of others.

Magnus should not be allowed to make comments on important matches like this one, at least not when the match is just starting. Some players may not be as strong as Gukesh is mentally, and seeing the influence Magnus has on chess, his comment is capable of discouraging players.

@DGukesh ‘s composure is exceptional - loses World Championship opener to someone without a classical win in a year, says, “I was feeling good, happens.” Commendable!

Such a horrible question to quote Magnus out of context. Why does Gukesh need to react to what @MagnusCarlsen said in a video covering the game. @FIDE_chess should look into the kind of reporters allowed to ask a question.

Well to be fair Magnus was up against another dominant player, Vishy Anand and had famously fumbled a piece.
