Magnus doesn’t respect Gukesh and he once said that Gukesh doesn’t “understand” much and only calculates a lot. This is classic racism. Loads of racists in western countries think that Indians only work hard and that their innate abilities are low.

Yes. People in India think these people's comments are well intended and not racist. They fail to really understand where it comes from. Innate subconscious racism. And many times westerners comments are polished and sophisticated yet patronizing and racist. Only when you live among them for years, you can understand this.

What makes a great player to become LEGEND is his humility. We saw that only in Sachin Tendulkar and now seeing the same in Gukesh. 👏👏

He is humble ,calm , and accepts his own weakness. He never says that he is the best . All he is doing is keep improving. That's how life works. Let's the haters hate. Keep going 💪.

Not just magnus, I am seeing this caustic criticism and a bit of narcissism in other higher ranked chess players also. Almost every other sport like tennis or soccer, players are humble to their opponents. But not in chess !!

So calm and cleverly replied without imputing any thing negative. Clearly a focussed boy who is rooted to the ground and not easily swayed by comments and media attention. Am sure he has just begun and will scale great heights with this attitude and focus

"பெருமை பெருமிதம் இல்லார் அறிவு உண்மை யாண்டு உயர்ந்து நிற்கும்." This kural highlights that true greatness comes from humility and wisdom, not pride. Those who avoid arrogance and embrace humility will rise and be honored.
