The Big Beautiful Bill’s failure to lock in DOGE’s $175B in verified savings exposes Washington’s procedural games. Reconciliation’s discretionary spending limits are a convenient excuse, not a real barrier—Congress could pass standalone legislation tomorrow to make these cuts permanent. The White House’s $9.4B rescission package targeting NPR, PBS, and USAID is a start, but it’s crumbs compared to the systemic waste DOGE has already identified. Real reform requires gutting entire agencies, not trimming their budgets. HHS alone accounts for $32B in terminated contracts and grants—imagine slashing that bloat permanently instead of letting D.C. play shell games with “mandatory” vs. “discretionary” labels. Codify the cuts. No more excuses.

@guypbenson We voted for action, not excuses. DOGE cuts are the people’s cuts.

@guypbenson Congress has 45 days to pass the DOGE cuts. So next week we need to amp up the Cuts. The clock will be ticking.

@guypbenson Wow, imagine thinking saving $175 billion in waste is “discretionary.” Congress only moves fast when it’s to fund Ukraine or NPR.

@guypbenson Right. That's the point of the $500 Billion Rescission bill. And it is this bill that the RINOs are trying to stop. Susan Collins,James Lankford, Bill Cassidy, Thom Tillis, Tom Cotton, John Cornyn, Todd Young.

Not wondering why they aren't in the big bill. Wondering why our congress is going on vacation when they should be passing the doge cuts independently in budget bills. I didn't take a vacation for the last 5 years my companies didn't make a profit. Why should these worthless chuds get to until our country is profitable again?

@guypbenson Yes, but there is no reason they can't codify all the DOGE cuts and EO's now, ahead of the BBB. They are just using the BBB as an excuse.
