The confrontation ended with the officer shooting Perone in the leg after Perone allegedly tried to grab the officer’s gun at least three times Perone was hospitalized, then booked into jail on two felony assault charges and later released on bond pending trial. The officer, with four years of experience, sustained swelling and scratches, was briefly hospitalized, and released with no serious injuries.
