VIDEO | On the EC-SIR row, senior advocate Prashant Bhushan says, “The revelation made today is extremely serious. It shows that the Election Commission has become the fiefdom of one person, Gyanesh Kumar. There are three Election Commissioners, and the other two have repeatedly raised objections to decisions of the Election Commission. Yet Gyanesh Kumar continues to do what he wants and ignores the other two Election Commissioners. An even more serious aspect of this revelation is that Gyanesh Kumar has centralised the entire IT system of the Election Commission to such an extent that all decisions are being taken centrally by the Election Commission in Delhi, including whose name should be added to the electoral roll, whose name should not be added and whose name should be deleted... This is such a serious matter that Gyanesh Kumar should not merely be removed from office; he should also be prosecuted. This is what needs to be done in this country.”

One of the most important stories in recent times. The Indian Express's Ritika Chopra exposes the autocratic / undemocratic way in which CEC Gyanesh Kumar has been working - with undeniable proof from within the Election Commission. (Even the denial from the Election Commission of India is meek!)

Gyanesh Kumar has completely tarnished the image of Election Commission… When this journalist shared how EC allowed the transfer of ₹10,000 to women accounts in Bihar and how it stopped in opposition ruled states, People agreed this is not a level playing field. Shame on EC!

VIDEO | Delhi: On the Election Commission's meeting with the Ritabrata Banerjee-led Trinamool faction, TMC MP Sagarika Ghose says, "The Election Commission has its own rules. Whenever the full Bench of the Election Commission meets a political party, it does so only after the party's authorised representatives or designated signatories submit a formal request seeking the meeting. No such letter has been sent from our side. We have not written to the Election Commission, nor have any of our authorised representatives or designated signatories requested a meeting. On what basis, then, has the full Bench of the Election Commission met this splinter group? We believe this meeting is illegal. This is a breakaway faction made up of people who have joined from different places, and its leaders have already been expelled from the party. Some of them came from other parties and have since been expelled. We want to state that the meeting held by the full Bench of the Election Commission with this group is unlawful..."

Gyanesh Kumar was sent to destroy our country! Who heads the Union Ministry of Cooperation? Amit Shah. And who served as his secretary? Gyanesh Kumar. The same Gyanesh Kumar now sits in the chair of the Chief Election Commissioner. Coincidence? Or a carefully scripted design? This is not an appointment, it’s an infiltration. An attempt to bend a constitutional institution, erode democracy, and hijack the very foundations of the Republic. Once again, our Hon’ble MP Shri Abhishek Banerjee tears the mask off the BJP - Election Commission nexus.

#WATCH | Delhi: CPI(M) General Secretary MA Baby reacts to Indian Express report on 2 ECs objecting to discrepancies in SIR process He says, "Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has been conducting himself in an illegal manner. There are three members in the Election Commission. Every decision has to be taken either on the basis of unanimity or on the basis of majority. Now he has been ignoring the majority view of the two members, and he has been imposing his own view... Therefore, he doesn't have any right to continue as the chief election commissioner. He should resign. If he does not resign, the government should remove him. This is the demand of the CPI(M)."
