My 200k account on instagram was banned last week, and the reason is kinda odd Meta sells meta glasses. Instagram's algorithm encouraged using meta glasses for content for a long time. So, I made a lot of content with meta glasses. Meta glasses are perfect for staged street interactions: Man wearing the glasses comes up to me, says "hey!", and then there's some sort of skit. I've done successful pickups that turn out to be a surreal dream. Fight scenes. Nostalgic dream dates. Getting fed a cookie by a stranger and then chasing them down the street like a baby bird. These are now flagged as "bullying" because a lot of the people who use meta glasses are using actual nonconsenting strangers for their content !! So now my account is banned because it looks like I am being bullied and harassed in the content that I co-produced, simply because we riffed on the wrong popular format
