🚨 - Hackney Council 👇🏽 It’s now 4 weeks without a functioning bathroom or kitchen for this family including an 11 and 6 year old, with the council refusing a temporary move whilst the kitchen and bathroom is repaired.

Some additional points: - for the first 4 days the family slept on their neighbours floor because of the dust. The contractors were made aware both mum and her 6 year old have really bad asthma. - The family reached out to their MP who forwarded it onto the councillors. It’s been 2 weeks and mum says she’s had no reply. - Hackney and Wates were made aware of their medical condition. It appeared on one form it was crossed out. - They’re bathing using a bucket. - Theres a hole so big in the wall between the kitchen and bathroom I could fit my hand through it. Wish exposed gas pipes and electrical cables and sewage pipe. - They’ve had no help from their housing officer who literally works down stairs - The family have no family in London that they could temporarily live with. - I visited the property today and that was its current state. - it is a small flat so the dust from the work is a real issue in this case.

The contractor (Wates) used small bits of plaster to hold the sockets in place.

This is the hole between the bathroom and kitchen that I referred to. It’s the bathroom and kitchen mum and her kids are still expected to used.

Wow! The Ark Roofing & Restoration team in The Woodlands, TX just took this roof to a whole new level with help from SRS Distribution in Cypress, TX. They're transforming #Texas homes & making strides toward a #cleaner & #greener future, one roof at a time! #ShoutoutSaturday

Disgusting, the golden rule for Social Housing... could you live there.... @hackneycouncil

This is bad and @hackneycouncil is one of the worst borough. I haven’t had hot water for a month & my landlord is not fixing it . I reported it to Hackney council private sector & they asked me to send them a proof that I have contacted the landlord& I did

Councillor in Hackney, don't know where the property is located but happy to follow up. Please DM details or email [email protected]

After emailing them the proof they asked for , they came back & said they can see the landlord is dealing with it so they can’t pressure him. A month now nothing is done . I keep using a kettle with 3 kids U10 & now no heating .

@hackneycouncil seriously, WTF? No functioning kitchen or bathroom for 4 weeks??

This is a disgrace! The impact on their life for something so basic. Why are Hackney councils and the contractors being so evil?
