I am not sure with the other places in the Philippines, but in our place the loud "tuko-tuko" sound is commonly believed to be a sign of good luck or fortune.

Ako na normal na marinig yan sa probinsya at di ko yan naririnig sa Maynila kaya nakakamiss din talaga. Pati yung maiingay na palaka 😅😅😅

I remember hearing this in Indonesia when we went there.
