Yeah if you think 'bout it, Mirage 2000 and HAL Marut look very similar. Kurt Tank, designed it ffs. He made FW190, Ta152 and other iconic planes of WW2. They were the best fighter planes introduced in Luftwaffe. Many German Aces considered Fw190 superior over Bf109

I read somewhere that HAL had a very advanced design department and was killed after Maruti and People unnecessarily created ADE which started things from scratch wasting time and resources!

Yes,it could have been such an asset and it could have helped in future projects also. china also made its own indigenous fighter jet in the last 1950s look where they are now compared to us
