And when Andy Burnham emerged as the most popular challenger Starmer blocked him. Then rewrote the entire party rulebook to make sure it could never happen again. That is not a man afraid of chaos. Another strong conversation in Red Deer was with a supporter who put his finger on something important: for a lot of Albertans, this is no longer mainly about oil or even economics. It is about freedom, rights, and whether Alberta still has a future inside a country that no longer feels like the one people grew up loving. He says it directly: this is not the Canada he fell in love with, and more and more people feel the same way. What makes this exchange significant is that it shows how the movement is maturing. It starts with the visible size of the line, the honking, and the energy on the street, but very quickly the conversation goes deeper. He argues that if people really understood what Ottawa is doing, they would be all over this. That is a revealing point because it frames Alberta independence not as some fringe impulse, but as a conclusion people arrive at once they stop assuming Canada still operates on the values it claims to stand for. We then get into one of the deepest issues of all: rights. He makes the argument that Canadians are taught to think they have rights, but in practice many of those rights function more like privileges that can be overridden. I respond by pointing to the first clause of the Charter and the broader constitutional problem that Canadians often speak as if they have American-style guarantees when they do not. That matters because once people conclude their freedoms are conditional, they stop thinking only in economic terms and start thinking civilizationally. What kind of country do we actually live in, and what kind of country do we want to build? He also makes a crucial point when he says this has gone way beyond oil and pipelines. He brings up unfair representation, the treatment of Alberta, and the feeling that the system has never really been fair to this province, only now it is being said openly and to our faces. That is one of the reasons the independence argument is broadening. It is no longer just resource frustration. It is about political dignity, democratic legitimacy, and whether Alberta is treated as a partner or as a region to be used. And the ending says a lot too. He brings it back to the kids, to affordability, to family formation, and to the people who are hurting the most. That is the deeper moral force behind this movement. For many supporters, Alberta independence is not mainly about anger. It is about creating a future where the next generation can still afford a home, raise a family, and live with real freedom and real opportunity.

At the end of the day, as I discussed with Jordan Peterson, there are just two games to be played, one real, one Woke. The real game is called civilization. The false game is called power. A long post/🧵: The real divide between Woke and not Woke is in power. The Woke game is the power game, and it is a parasite on the real game, which is civilization. Here's roughly how Jordan described the foundation of this idea. There are various rules, norms, etc., in the game society ultimately plays, and these create a hierarchy that is based upon competence, mostly organically, obviously imperfectly. If the rules of the game are good enough, the imperfections (natural corruptions) are minor and society thrives. If they are not, you'll have problems. This is the real game of building society, and it ultimately has to favor competence. This game must be called "civilization" because that's not just its goal but it is also what it does. It civilizes us beyond our base instincts and impulses so we can work together productively in a healthy manner that generates prosperity. As Jordan put it, this game is also a reservoir of value, and reservoirs of value create parasites. What are these civilizational parasites? They’re parallel games organized by and around malignant psychopathological modes like Dark Tetrad traits, psychopathy, and Cluster-B disorders: histrionic, borderline, antisocial, and narcissistic. These malignant pathologies render people incompetent except at manipulation, so they cannot rise far in a healthy civilizational hierarchy. What do they do, then, to gain power and status in life in a game they cannot actually play? They define a parasitic parallel game and rope people into playing it. It is parasitic in that it draws off the real game (civilization) and mimics its form so that the hosts (people in society) are less likely to realize it’s there, but it doesn’t build or create of its own. It siphons and tears down. What drives this game is failing to see what makes the civilizational game and the hierarchy it produces legitimate in the first place. This is characteristic of the psychopathologies at its heart. The narcissist imagines the world should be serving himself at the top, but it isn’t. The problem can’t be himself, so it must be that the game is illegitimate. Otherwise, he’d be at the top, but he isn’t. Therefore, the game is corrupt. His histrionic nature makes him a victim of the real game, preying upon emotions like empathy and righteous indignation to recruit followers. Because of his Dark Tetrad alignment, his game is not only illegitimate but toxic. It’s inherently sadistic, cruel to its recruits in the way typical of all cults—alternating punishment and leniency or even love-bombing. It’s dishonest. It’s psychologically broken from reality. It’s also a Machiavellian game, which means it has no interest in moral or ethical behavior but only in power. Thus, this rival game to the game of civilization is the game of power. The parasitic game—that is, the power game—is based on a fundamental failure to understand the legitimacy of the civilizational game or the approximately legitimate hierarchy it produces. This is a result of its narcissism, mostly. The game cannot be legitimate because the psychopath isn’t on top of it, where he sees himself constantly as a projection from his frail ego. It sees power in the real hierarchy, though, which it can perceive and understand, and for which it blames most of its troubles. What this means is that the (Woke) power game develops a critical theory of the existing legitimate civilization game. That’s why Woke means “using critical theory (and activism).” A critical theory exists not to articulate a vision—at least not beyond a Utopia after the cult power game holds power to enforce its power game long enough—but to “criticize those aspects of the existing society we wish to change,” as Max Horkheimer, creator of the Critical Theory, put it. The critical theory of the power game exists to recruit by delegitimizing the civilization game in the minds of some of its players, usually ones who aren’t succeeding as well. It picks at “contradictions,” failures, and imperfections while casting the whole civilization game as corrupt and unjust. It offers itself as the only alternative to civilization game while pulling at the threads of the civilization game that allow people to believe in it. It all proceeds from the Woke failure to understand the legitimacy of the hierarchy of the civilization game as it proceeds from its set of rules. Misunderstanding legitimacy leads it to conclude that all hierarchies are actually based in power, and all power is fundamentally arbitrary. That is, they do not believe all power is illegitimate. They believe power is the only legitimate thing in any hierarchy, but they also believe that power is located in persons like themselves through their narcissism and projection. Think of Voldemort as an icon of this mode of thinking: “there is no good or evil, only power and those too weak to seek it.” Of course, that quintessential Dark Tetrad perspective is what ensures the psychopathological power game will be rigged to make sure the psychopaths are attracted to it and rise to its top. This belief is what we call Woke. The Woke game is the power game, and it is a parasitic competitor to the civilization game. There is no overlap between these two games. To adopt the power game is to abandon the civilization game entirely and, in fact, to become its enemy. But James, you might ask, isn’t there power in civilization? Yes, there is, and necessarily, but it isn’t what defines the civilization game. It’s a byproduct of the game, not the game itself. The civilization game is fundamentally the building out of an organic and dynamic hierarchy based on a set of rules, or what some people call “muh principles,” that will succeed or fail for that civilization in direct proportion to three things. 1) How aligned with the truth are the rules of the civilization game? 2) How aligned with justice are the rules of the civilization game? 3) How willing are the participants of the civilization game to defend their principles and their game, including against socio-parasitical perversion? The more aligned with truth and justice a civilization game is, the more successful it will be, and the more legitimate its hierarchy. The power that results as a byproduct is extremely legitimate in a highly aligned civilization where people haven’t forgotten their charge to defend the game itself, which is what we call responsibility. A civilization game strongly aligned with truth and justice filled with a preponderance of responsible people will produce a thriving, prosperous society. It only works this way every time. Not everyone is responsible, though. Some are also incompetent because of various pathologies (not talking about for other reasons). Those pathological players may, under certain circumstances, create a parasitic side game with themselves on top through a variety of strategies that mimic the values and principles of the real game while distorting them into power plays because their game is power, as discussed above. They will recruit into that game primarily from those who are resentful of the real game for any variety of reasons, and getting recruited into the power game from the civilization game is called “going Woke.”

Scott Jennings just blew up the Democrats’ favorite excuse. They’re now claiming Graham Platner wasn’t properly vetted, but Jennings wasn’t buying it for a second. He reminded the CNN panel that prominent Democrats like Ro Khanna, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Tim Walz all knew about Platner’s past — and backed him anyway. Why Does Evil Dominate the World? — John MacArthur // March 4, 2007 If God is not in total control of evil, if He has not ordained it – listen - and if He does not have it under complete control at every millisecond of history, then this universe is out of control at the most crucial point. If God is not in control of this completely, then how and when will He get the knowledge and the power to get it under control? And I would ask you this: would you rather have a God trying to get control of evil, or a God completely in control of it? Take your choice. But the God of the Bible is in complete control of evil for His own purposes. It is really heresy to say that the world is full of evil apart from a predetermined plan and purpose by God that is far above the willy-nilly choices of people. So, what do we know up to now? Evil exists, God exists. God wills evil to exist. He did not create it, He could not create it, but He did not prevent it. He ordained it, He willed it - here it comes, listen carefully - because He had a purpose for it; He had a purpose for it - a purpose. This is critical: He had a purpose for evil. What is that purpose that God had for evil? Before I answer that question - and that’s the fourth in our little outline - let me read the Westminster Confession from the 1700s; some great theologians and biblical scholars put this together. Listen carefully: “God, from all eternity, did, by the most wise and holy counsel of His own will, freely, and unchangeably ordain whatsoever comes to pass:“ Yet so, as thereby neither is God the author of sin, nor is violence offered to the will of the creatures; nor is the liberty or contingency of second-hand causes taken away ... sinfulness proceeds not only from the creature; proceeds only from the creature and not from God, who, being most holy and righteous, neither ... can be the author and approver of sin.” But then, says the Westminster Confession, all that God decrees and all that God providentially brings to pass is all to the praise of His glory - and they got it right.The reason for God ordaining evil is for the praise of His glory. Let me ask you a simple question to help you answer the question - the bigger question: is God more glorious because of sin existing or less glorious? Pretty easy question to answer, isn’t it? That really is the ultimate question. Throughout all the eons of eternity, will God receive more glory from His creatures because sin existed or less? And, friends, that’s really all that matters, is the eternal glory of God. So, it’s fourth down, and we’re on the ten-yard line, and I’m pulling out the winning play and we’re going for six for the victory. Turn to Romans 3 - and I want you to track with me a little bit; can’t take time to develop all of this, but I’m going to give you a good start. Wish I could build context; we don’t have time. But let’s look at chapter 3 and verse 5. Opening statement: “But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say?” Grab that phrase: our right - unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God. And Paul uses the first of a series of verbs; this one happens to be sunistēmi, translated demonstrates in the New American Standard. It is a verb that means to disclose, to reveal, to put on display, to show. Our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God. Another way to say that would be, would you really understand the righteousness of God if you didn’t understand unrighteousness? Isn’t there something to be gained by the contrast? Paul has been showing that God is faithful to His promises to Israel, and their sin and unbelief cannot alter God’s covenant, cannot alter God’s faithfulness.

Well, the cavemen didn't have color TVs, computers, cars, antibiotics, or medicine. They were not sitting around dividing up the same few things. The knowledge grows, and we create more. It also tends to assume that we can freeze frame at some point in society and say, 'Well, we have enough different kinds of sneakers, enough different kinds of housing, we just need to allocate it better.' And that is not how anything works. David Deutsch has a great definition of wealth, which he says is the set of physical transformations that we can affect. So, when you think about it that way, you realize that knowledge is not just stored capital in the classic Marxist sense (capital vs. labor), but it's also knowledge on what to do with that capital. The cavemen or Palaeolithic ancestors had access to all the same resources we did. They were living on the same Earth, and by the modern environmentalist arguments, they had a better Earth—they had more to do things with. But yet, they couldn't do anything. They were not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination. Why? Because of knowledge. Life is not a zero-sum game, it's a positive-sum game. But we are hardwired to think it's a zero-sum game because, for millions or billions of years, there was no such thing as wealth. There was no such thing as persistent knowledge creation in the environment. What you had was a small amount of resources being divided up, and most of the games were status games—'Which monkey outranks which other monkey?' And that decides which monkey gets to eat first. We played that game for a billion years. Now, we come onto a recent game where, actually, we can all eat, and the big problem is obesity. It's no longer starvation. The big problem is boredom. It's not actually work. There's enough work. So, in this environment, switching your evolved mindset from a zero-sum game to a positive-sum game where we can all win, if we create knowledge together and use the resources that we have to create more resources and more wealth, that's the game we all need to be playing now.

.Naval: You have a beautiful definition of knowledge, which most people don’t even try to tackle, about how knowledge perpetuates itself in the environment. You gave some really good examples. One was around genes. Successful, highly adapted genes contain a lot of knowledge and can cause themselves to be replicated because they’re survivors. In the same way, knowledge itself is a survivor, in that if you transmit to me the knowledge of how to build a computer, it’s an incredibly useful thing. I’m going to build more and more computers and that knowledge will be passed on. Your underlying point that you repeated here was if you want to understand the physical universe you have to understand knowledge, because it is the thing that over time takes over and changes more and more the universe—more than almost anything else. You have to understand all the explanations behind it. You can’t just say “particle collisions” because that explains everything, so it explains nothing. It’s not a useful level to operate at. Therefore, the things that create knowledge are uniquely influential in the universe. And as far as we know, there are only two systems that create knowledge. There’s evolution and there are humans. At one point a flat earth Christian was looked at as an outsider a heretic even, now it is on its way to becoming the majority opinion. When I first realized the Millennial Reign happened already I hid it going against my gut because so few agreed at the time but since then it has only grown, on its way to become common knowledge among many Christians. God is waking people up to the same truth and once you honestly look into it you see it is not only Biblically sound but they are clearly hiding a worldwide advanced civilization that was hyper focused on Jesus Christ. They say this combo is the greatest work of art in the world, the mosaic is even hidden as the mere acknowledgement of its true composition defies the history we've all been taught. Assassin's Creed II has many memorable moments, but this big one near the end of the game is brilliant because it shows Ezio at the end of his rope after 10 long years, and yet the truth, the REAL truth, brings him back from the brink in crazy ways. He thinks he's alone and so he decides to assassinate The Spaniard all by himself, only to find that he not only has friends that care about him and support him, but that every comrade he's ever met has been guiding him every step of the way since he was a teenager without his knowledge. This is why Ezio officially joining the Assassins carries a ton of weight. Every member present is one you've gotten to know, bled alongside of in battle and uncovered the world's most insane secrets with. The truth is that Ezio was never alone. He didn't lose everything but OBTAINED that and more. A life, a family, and a purpose as "The Prophet". Truly, these scenes are just flat-out great, and IMO cement Assassin's Creed II as the best game in the franchise.
