It was great, I do think it's often propped a little too high up than what it actually was due to nostalgia. Although Reach is my favorite, I think H3 was peak in terms of overall gameplay and community.

This is the first game that made me wish that a time and place from a video game really existed. I can't remember the mission name but it's near the end of the game and it takes place on High Charity. Right around the time the brutes took place of the elites.

i think halo 3 was more ahead of its time in terms of graphics and overall content, but the multiplayer functionality in halo 2 was so far ahead of its time

It took years for a comparable multiplayer alternative. Friends list, Matchmaking, clans, etc. Truly a 1 of 1 type game for its time.

I would purposefully leave my game running on at the main menu to watch this multiple times a day
