WATCH--Gaza’s October 7 millionaires: a horrendous and nasty class of aid and money thieves, many of whom are associated with Hamas and terror, has emerged in Gaza throughout the two years of war. These individuals, who before the war barely had a dollar in their pockets, are now playing with Euros and Dollars, just as children play with Monopoly money. The guys will then go on social media to brag about how honest and pious they are and ask for more donations, all of course while paying Hamas significant sums to ensure that the terror group either provides protection or allows them to operate freely. This particular video is just one single example of one of these “October 7” millionaires who are literally showcasing millions of dollars on social media and saying how they are continuing to do good and ask for even more money, while the majority of the people of Gaza receive absolutely nothing from these funds. This is the tragedy of Gaza, before and after October 7; billions of dollars/euros have been raised to be sent to the Strip by Hamas and the international community, with little to nothing to show for it. Worse, the United States' negotiated ceasefire has allowed Hamas to replenish its coffers by hundreds of millions of dollars, providing the terror group and its infrastructure with cash to rebuild and re-entrench its control in preparation for the inevitable future round of war with Israel.

Once again, Jeremy Bowen is misleading the British public about Gaza: Yet again the BBC’s Jeremy Bowen is misrepresenting a key issue in Gaza – and as always, he is doing so in a way that places Israel in the most flattering light possible. The BBC’s international editor notes two reasons why Hamas will not wish to disarm, as stipulated by Israeli and US officials: a) Because having weapons is “deep in their ideological DNA”. b) Because Hamas are worried that, if they are not armed, “there are plenty of people out there in Gaza who would like to take revenge on them and will come after them”. Notice two things here: First, both of these claims are rooted in Israeli rationales for why Hamas needs disarming. Inadvertently or not, Bowen is subtly suggesting that the group is inherently bloodthirsty, and that it does not properly represent the people of Gaza (more on that in a moment). Second, Bowen ignores the main reason why Hamas wants to keep its weapons, one so obvious that it is simply astounding that he forgot to mention it. Hamas believes that, if it is not armed, Israel will have an even freer hand to carry out its genocidal policies in Gaza, to continue its decades-long, illegal occupation of Palestinian lands, and to intensify its siege of the enclave. Hamas believes Israel’s violence against the Palestinian people should not be cost-free. Whether or not one approves of Hamas’ approach – and to do so would be a violation of the UK’s Terrorism Act and could lead to a 14-year jail sentence – Bowen is required to report what the group actually thinks. Otherwise he is not a journalist, he is just another western propagandist. Instead, he is actively misleading the British public both about Hamas’ worldview and about a core issue – Hamas’ disarmament – that could soon give Israel the excuse it seeks to trash the ceasefire agreement. Like the rest of the BBC’s coverage, Bowen’s reporting refuses to address the elephant in the room: that Palestinians are caught in a trap crafted for them by the West. If they try to resist their illegal occupation by Israel, they are slaughtered and damned as terrorists. But if they don’t, they must live as permanent prisoners of an illegal, dehumanising occupation. A further point: Bowen says Hamas are using their weapons to take on “armed clans who have weapons themselves – to reassert their power, to send a message to Gazans, ‘Don’t mess with us’.” Bowen, of course, carefully ignores the part Israel has played in arming these criminal clans and letting them steal food aid. The clans sold that aid at inflated prices to a small section of Gaza’s population who could still afford to pay, while everyone else starved. One doesn’t need to be a genius, or Hamas sympathiser, to imagine – contrary to Bowen’s suggestion that Hamas is widely feared by the population – that most people there may be relieved to see Hamas back and taking on the criminal gangs that extorted them and were central to the implementation of Israel’s genocidal starvation campaign.

A Hamas-Israel agreement is still far from being finalized, with three key issues yet to be resolved. I discussed this last night on החדשות - N12. First, there’s disagreement over where exactly the IDF will withdraw from. Jerusalem’s current stance is that areas it captured during Operation Gideon’s Chariots won’t be returned to Hamas, as doing so would prevent Israel from building the humanitarian zone in southern Gaza that will be free of both Hamas and weapons. Next is the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. For Israel, the continuation of GHF operations during the ceasefire is crucial. Why? Because without it, the ceasefire will end up funding Hamas in the form of tens of thousands of aid trucks—the very thing that has enabled the terror group to survive 21 months of war. And finally, there’s the question of ending the war once and for all. As I’ve explained previously, Netanyahu’s coalition can likely stomach a 60-day ceasefire—but the prime minister will be harder pressed to garner enough support for a total end to the war. If Hamas remains steadfast in its demand for an end to the fighting—that may well prevent a deal from being struck. But there’s one more issue—at least on Hamas’ end. In Israel, we know that the elected government makes the ultimate decisions regarding the war. But in Gaza? It’s not entirely clear. During the first ceasefire, Hamas had Yahya Sinwar at the helm. During the second ceasefire, his brother was leading the group. But with both of them gone, along with much of Hamas’ senior leadership in the strip, it’s not clear who has the final say—and that complicates attempts to strike a final agreement, to say the least. As for Hamas’ internal debates, while the terror group recognizes the dire straits in which it finds itself, there’s disagreement over whether to let Israel remain in crucial areas such as the Morag Corridor, or to stand by the demand for a more widespread Israeli withdrawal. For now, at least, there’s nothing to suggest that the Gazan terror group is about to give in.
