He dismissed eyewitness testimony and bodycam footage as fabrications, suggesting that videos showing Hamas gunmen shooting civilians were staged and that those appearing in them were collaborators dressed as Hamas fighters. Since October 7, Hamas leaders and their propagandists have led a campaign to deny or minimize well-documented crimes committed against Israeli civilians. Hamas leaders and their propagandists claim they did not target civilians, yet at the same time, more than two hundred Israeli civilians, including children, were taken hostage. They deny that their gunmen killed civilians, despite the existence of extensive footage, including videos filmed and released by Hamas fighters themselves, showing the killing of civilians.
