Hand-picked group stages and pre-determined Super 8s progression. India, if they get there, even know exactly where their semi-final will be played – a luxury not afforded to any other team. Does the structure of the #T20WorldCup lack sporting integrity?

Just makes it even funnier when they bottle it again

England & Australia need to bring sponsors to avoid this. This has nothing to do with Indian team or BCCI but the sports broadcaster(Owner of which is an Australian) asking ICC to meet with some basic conditions for their investment in Billions.

Worse than that, it’s essentially fixing. You’re allowing India fans to buy all the tickets to Guyana as they basically know they will be playing there almost allowing home advantage. The integrity of the WC was long gone as they happen so regularly but this is the final nail.

Keep Crying 😭

Remind me again is it the ICC who run cricket or the BCCI?

To a certain extent I agree your viewpoint that it’s not fair competition. But I hope you criticise WTC finals allocated to England too considering pace friendly pitch/weather. We can’t keep 2 different yardsticks.

Well… still the winner will be someone else. And that’s a reality.

Well 70% of all revenue from this World Cup will happen only because of India viewership & TV rights. The @ICC has played it smart in the @T20WorldCup by correlating the match timings to the indian viewership timings, since no other broadcaster is underwriting the tournament ! It’s business for the ICC & TV channels. You do realise that when the rights are sold, match timings & broadcast windows are discussed & finalised by the broadcasters & ICC ! Other boards don’t complain since they get a huge chunk of the profits from the ICC which come out of the Indian broadcast revenues. Case in point - Australian traditional broadcasters won’t even show the games LIVE other than on Disney Hotstar

Well that’s why cricket is not that famous in other countries It’s always football
