Hands Down, Nelson Dilipkumar is The best director among the next generation miles ahead of his contemporaries! 💙 I sincerely wish he comes back soon from making magnum opus like #Jailer2 to scale wise smaller films like KoKo and Doctor, so we can witness his films more often!!

James Gandolfini’s final film was The Drop. His performance is breathtaking. Part of why I still have a hard time accepting Gandolfini’s passing is because he had so, so much more to give. Gandolfini found his post-Sopranos groove. Films like Killing Them Softly, Enough Said & The Drop resulted in some of the best work of Jim’s career. I don’t think I’ll ever get over his passing.

I really don’t like this director. Where characters have to loose integrity to be “complex” characters. Like making Zuko steal from pregnant women doesn’t work, when he was trying his best to maintain his sense of honor in the original show.

John Pilger's documentaries are historically significant exposés of the cruelty and connivances of US empire, in which he gave voice to resistance movements still struggling for their sovereignty. Films like his 1983 "Nicaragua, a nation's right to survive" inspired my own work, as did the messages of encouragement and insights he sent me and my colleagues. Unlike so many of his contemporaries who fell into a fog of liberalism late in life, Pilger's critiques of empire only sharpened with time. Sadly, he left us today. But his body of work will only grow more relevant in the cataclysmic years ahead. #RIP

Darren Aronofsky has really tested my patience the last few years. I don’t love how much he’s diving into AI-filmmaking & I wish he returned to films like Black Swan. I’m not positive if Black Swan is Darren’s best film but it’s the one that connected with me most, especially as a life-long violinist who loves Tchaikovsky's music. It’s unquestionably the height of Natalie Portman’s career as well. Wish Aronofsky returned to more films like this one.
