🙄The check out girl comes out of the restroom to a mostly empty store and she’s a lady at the self checkout and goes over to have a look, she asks the lady for a receipt and she hands her a receipt with two items on it, when she is questioned about the other items in her cart she accuses the clerk of accusing her of stealing, am I missing something here ? Is this just another case of someone trying to provoke employees into a viral post ?

Off duty officer pins a man down and detains him over a 5 dollar Walmart pizza. You can't make up this level of incompetence. A routine trip to a Walmart in Kansas City, Kansas, turned into a illegal detainment for 24-year-old Dayton Borisouth over a $5 frozen pizza he had completely paid for. Borisouth was walking toward the exit with his unbagged frozen pizza when an off-duty Kansas City officer working store security stopped him to demand a receipt. Borisouth verbally confirmed he had it but kept walking. Within moments, the situation escalated from there as the officer immediately went hands on and Borisouth was taken to the ground near the entrance. Borisouth repeatedly yelled that he had the receipt in his pocket, pleading with officers to just look at it. Instead, the officer continued to pin him down. As back up arrived one of the officers placing a knee directly on his neck and threatened to bre@k his nose if he didn't comply. Borisouth had the receipt the entire time. Shoplifting charges were never filed, and the department quickly dropped initial citations for non-compliance and interference. Following an internal review, the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department publicly admitted that the off-duty officer should have disengaged the moment Borisouth walked away. The department confirmed that a responding officer used an unapproved, untrained knee-on-neck restraint. Two officers faced disciplinary action and were forced to undergo mandatory retraining. Despite the trauma and public backlash, Borisouth and his family chose not to pursue civil rights or personal injury lawsuits. After being detained in a police cruiser for nearly an hour, Borisouth was released. Because his pizza had completely thawed and spoiled during the scuffle, he walked right back into the Walmart, showed his receipt to a greeter, and the store gave him a replacement pizza before he finally went home.

Today at White River Magistrate’s Court, I was physically assaulted in a place that is supposed to deliver justice. I emailed at 09:13 to request documents I am constitutionally entitled to. I drove there to collect copies. Upon arrival, I was forced through unnecessary obstacles: print out the email and return, sit and wait endlessly. I complied. After repeatedly asking court staff for help, the copies were finally made and handed to the clerk responsible for taking payment and issuing the documents with a receipt. At 10:55, she boldly announced she was going on a tea break. I explained that I had already waited a long time and politely asked if she could please process my payment first and hand over the documents. She refused, and then lunged at me with a kettle in hand, pouring its entire contents over my shirt and skirt. (Thank God the water was not boiling.) At the same moment, a court security guard and SAPS officer grabbed me, dragged me out, and manhandled me aggressively. I am a short woman, they threw me around like a ragdoll. At no point did I give anyone permission to lay hands on me. This was clear assault. I yelled out: "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" In that instant, it took me straight back to the day in 2021 at White River SAPS, when I screamed the exact same words while connected comrades viciously assaulted my husband inside the police station. This time, it was me on the floor. This time, it was me being assaulted. This is NOT okay.

Yesterday morning I hosted a group of my constituents whose lives have been directly impacted by the squatter crisis, for a segment with Marcia Kramer of CBS. The new talking point from the progressive Democrats is that the squatter crisis is overblown or even non-existent, as they push to further empower squatters and strip property rights in the state budget currently being negotiated, but this problem is all too real, and it's devastating. I was able to pull this group of constituents together for a live interview with less than 12 hours notice. That's how bad it's gotten. With more notice I could have brought in least a dozen more cases from my office alone. This problem is rampant, it's getting worse, and it's destroying people's faith in the city. These laws MUST be changed, but Republicans cannot do it alone. Democrats MUST begin to take this seriously at both the city and state level. The timeframe to establish residency must be made longer. I'm proposing a change from 30 days to 180 days in NYC. Documentation to establish residency must be limited to official utility bills or notarized leases and nothing more. In one case in Jamaica, a squatter used an Uber Eats receipt to establish residency, and the court allowed it. In no sane world should this be acceptable. Homeowners MUST be empowered to rapidly remove squatters from their property when they are first discovered. And squatters MUST be taken out of civil court and brought into criminal court, to be charged with criminal trespass, forgery, and ID theft if appropriate. There must be serious consequences to these scams. The people have had enough. Laws must change. And if Democrats aren't interested in fixing these problems, homeowners are going to be left with no other option but to take matters into their own hands to protect their rights. We're playing with fire here.
