Hanging out at the arcade, 1990. Quarters, neon, the same three games until the lights came on. Anybody else wish they could go back?

I miss the race relations of that time. People forget how much less the race thing was an issue to most people back then. It wasn’t gone, but it wasn’t like this. 90s was peak

Man in 1983 we would sneak out and go down to the 7-eleven and play video games for hours at night

Nostalgic peak But also, I don’t remember dragon claws back then 👀

👀

Our Mall arcade was the place to be in 1980 But in 1982 the Pizza 🍕 place closed and the arcade was a No Smoking area The Arcade closed in 1984

Yes! Only if they still have Galaga , Missile Command, Mappy, Tron, and Frogger.

I can go back every night…

I wish I could go back and get a "real job" sooner. I was working dead-end jobs hoping for my band's big break. Didn't end up taking on responsibility until 98...I kept singing in bands, but could actually afford to drink and eat in the venues where I performed. Don't wait for life to start, kids...take charge! 🙂

I was 27 and hanging out in bowling alleys 🎳 winning trophies & watching butts 🤩

I’ll never understand why women have nails like this. Maybe they use them as weapons. 🤔

i check in every night. somebody has to ask if the high score was worth it

I seem to remember a lot more cigarette smoke lingering around the arcades back then. This one doesn’t have any.

Galaga Arkanoid Final Fight

It was a fun time!

Bro, by the 80s Arcades were already a Token Based Economy. 🧐 😂

Stay away from ceiling fans .......

I would have guessed about 87-88, which was the peak of hairspray culture iirc. I think it was dying out by 90, but clearly there were still hold-outs.

$10.00 for 5 hours of unlimited play time on a Friday night was epic.

No

I was a kid and it was a good weekend when my dad would give us 5 dollars. Most of the time it was a dollar and we would watch other people play all day.

WTF what is up with those nails?

Literally what @VROOM_FUN is building. But better!

The coins disappeared faster then steam on a sunny day,but Arcades was the charming side of gaming you can never get back. You could only play soo much,i think is what made it soo special. And the games, although with limited graphics were soo much more creative then. I feel like it goes years and years between every gaming highlight these days. I do wish i could experience those days again.

lol In the 90’s Hang out in the arcades in the late 70’s to 90’s is more like it

Pole position was my game.

Centipede

Being someone who was born in the '60s raised in the seventies and the '80s were my time this brings back a lot of fun memories of fun zone holy cow we used to kick ass playing all these games it was a blast I wish we could go back to this time sometimes.. 🧏🏼♀️✨🫠

I don't think we realized how good the 90s were till it was gone. Iron Wall came down, Soviet Union collapsed and the world was partying. Last generation of true freedom before everything was tracked and video taped. Music was awesome. Tons of arcade and pinball games in the 90s

I don't remember the nails? But i can tell you this that arcade smelled like hairspray and apple perfume.

The best
