nah, i don't know if y'all noticed, but couples in their 30's - 50's used to socialize with friends and other couples just fine. Your spouse is the person you see the most in your life, besides maybe some people at work depending on what kind of job you have. People got way to comfortable during covid nesting up with their spouse watching netflix and developed weird comfort co-dependencies and anti-social behavior. It honestly really sucks and people are blind to it.

I agree social circles are important. It’s more about protecting your relationship from unnecessary outside influence.

real. my parents were rarely ever alone. always throwing parties. always going to parties. or living separate lives outside of the home. both miserable. and me being alone most days. any days we were together were usually horrendous and violent.

Alot of couples are anti social because what others try to bring into their home! Everytime me or my husband stepped out to make friends they gossip, “oh why is your husband working so late, I make mine come home at blah blah blah or are you sure hes not out there cheating” how about those that try to say porn is good for your sex life you wanna play tradsies or how about those that literally try to throw themselves on your spouse.” Grown ups are disrespectful and disgusting! I have been married for 23 yrs and am very happy we are where we are with family and our kids!
