Phainon has been trapped in a time loop for seven years. But it felt more like a curse than a blessing. Phainon could only see Mydei on October 31st each year, and Mydei would always die on that very same day. So, every year, Phainon sent an invitation to Mydei, determined to fulfill the promise they had once made. He would also wear the outfit Mydei had mentioned before passing away, the one Mydei had wanted him to wear so they could dance together. And in the final loop, when Mydei finally remembered everything, Phainon made a choice. He stopped trying to change fate. He stopped begging for another chance. Instead, he quietly held Mydei in his arms and let him go forever.
